    Hello ^^

If you aren't a newbie and know what UPS is, just skip this text and grab the installer file in the bottom of this post.

I was just browsing some forums, searching if VBA didn't get updated. It did. Actually, one of its successors - VBA-M. I've been using it for a quite long time and I am pretty much satisfied with it. To let you know, all thanks for reviving VBA development go to mudlord and his group.

There are quite a few changes when compared to original VBA, for example, neatly organized options, performance improvements and so.

Newest addition to VBA-M is UPS patch support, as you could read from the title. We all know IPS, we all may thank its developers for letting us ROM hackers distribute our masterpieces in this format. But, as the ROM expansion became more and more popular, the size limit of 16MB in IPS is a pretty big limitation for those who expanded their ROMs so they can continue their hacks.

There were quite a few alternatives, but most promising seems UPS. It is an extension of IPS and preserves many of the good IPS features. Many of you had hard time with using even IPS, and for UPS it became much harder due to lack of automatic patching. Now, VBA-M has implemented support for UPS along with IPS patches. When a hack will be released and distributed by UPS patch, you will have no more problems with patching.

If you still use official VBA emulator, it may be fine for you to update and enjoy the improvements. The provided download link contains an easy-to-use installer created by mudlord.

It's a pretty good emulator. Also Spacy's a part of the development team, he used to be a ROM hacker, he worked on that great Gold hack called Midnight with a few others.
