    Vector Revolution
An Elfen Lied Role-Play. For those age 16+
(This Role-Play is Rated M for the violence aspect of Elfen Lied. As such, adding themes other than violence will be frowned upon.)
(For those who don't know Elfen Lied, do NOT just go searching for it if "M" doesn't apply to you. You have been warned.)

    For Those Who Don't Know
In this RP, there exists an evolutionary step above Humans. They are often referred to as "Diclonius." Diclonius are beings with immense strength, but not through their physical body. When they start to mature to adulthood (puberty), they instantaneously summon a set of invisible arms called "Vectors"(it can be argued that they are creations of the Diclonius psyche) from their backs. Vectors vibrate at such a high frequency that they are completely invisible. Even so, they can cut through flesh with ease and bend sturdy metals like they were toothpicks. However, they are seen as the tools to end mankind.
Diclonius are experimented on by a top-secret (nameless, as they work in the dark) organization hoping to expand the Human race's power while wiping out the Diclonian race. The Diclonius are treated like prisoners, and are often small children just mature enough for their Vectors to come about. To these people, the Diclonius are enemies and a nightmare to the Human race. The Diclonius feel the opposite.

Other things to know (or more thoroughly explained):

    1) Vectors: invisible hands that sprout from the back when the Diclonius matures. Under the full control of their owner, they vibrate at such a high speed that they are unable to be seen. This also allows the Vectors destroy almost anything while remaining unseen. While each set of Vectors vary depending on the Diclonius (strength, speed, length, number of arms, etc.), all of them are able to cause instantly-fatal damage to Humans (Slicing, ripping, etc.). They can even stop simple gun rounds with their Vectors. However, Diclonian Vectors cannot handle fifty- caliber ammunition that well, and when the Diclonius is in pain the Vectors recede and will not respond.
    2) The average length for Vectors is about two meters, and the average number of Vectors is four per Diclonian. These can vary, but Vactors are usually balanced when it comes to differences (ex. a shorter-length Vector might be shorter, but they are usually more powerful.) And, when the Diclonius is on the extremes of their emotional levels, the Vectors become even stronger.
    3) A Diclonius cannot reproduce naturally. Instead, some are born with the ability to genetically infect humans by touching them with their Vectors. When this happens, the Human's genetic information is altered so that they give birth to Diclonius.
    4) They only real physical trait that can distinguish Diclonius from Humans is the horns on top of the Diclonius' head. A fully developed Diclonius would have the horns, bone protrusions from the skull, break through their skin at birth. Undeveloped Diclonius would most likely be bald and have the horns under their skin. The horns are in the likeness of cat ears, but for this RP you may alter them to your liking.

    The Plot
The hidden conflict between Humans and Diclonius has been escalated to the highest it has ever been. A recent phenomenon has changed the tides of the silent war: Fully-developed Male Diclonius. Although rare in the Diclonian population, they have become a valuable asset in short time. As soon as Male Diclonians that can develop vectors like their female counterparts mature to that point, their vectors pulse. This pulsation spreads the infection that alters Human reproductive genes as an airborne pathogen. Depending on the strength of the male, entire cities could be infected at once, and Human fetuses in the earliest trimester of development can become a Diclonius, too. There's no way of telling when, where, nor why this happens, but it comes after a blinding headache and intense muscle spasms as the vectors first sprout. The only saving grace is that this phenomenon can never occur more than once per male. Even so, it is still a serious problem for Humans.

As a countermeasure, top secret projects around the world have been pushed with the utmost haste to create a vaccine that will eliminate the infection. Once that happens, the next step would be to create a vaccine that will kill all the Diclonius around the world. Both sides are almost ready to drive in the final blow. And, at this rate, the silent war will surely explode and be revealed to the unsuspecting world.

    Join Both Causes
To make sure that things don't get too crazy, the desired number of people on this RP is six. This is because each member is to make at least two characters; one Diclonius and at least one Human. The Diclonius will a more out-standing character in the war (regardless of being an advocate right away or just being dragged into it). At the same time, Humans cannot be spam-created and all be able to match the Diclonius (3 max at first). The one Human character you have to make should be against the Diclonius character in some way (but they can interact just fine with any other Diclonius, if desired).
Counting myself, that means that five other people can apply for a Diclonius character at first. If people still want to join after the six Diclonius are created, then they can PM me to get the OK. They can't create a Diclonius at first, but once things look flexible enough to add a couple more I'll alert the people who applied the earliest. For the time being, people who are temporarily denied a Diclonius character can create a guaranteed leader of the Human cause or a soldier that can combat against the Diclonians. At maximum, ten people seems manageable.

    The Setting
We are still on Earth, but this world is also host to the Diclonians. As the silent war between Humans and Diclonius rages on all over the world (as in, most of the mainstream is not aware of the Diclonius as a separate race; they have been lead to believe that the horns are a birth defect.), the secret organization created by Humans (in this RP we shall call it "Righteous Saviors") are just days away from finalizing the vaccine that will cure other Humans who were genetically infected. Their lab is located under the streets of a large town called Fuyuharu Town. Fuyuharu Town is located in the Eastern United States. It has a predominately mild climate all year-round, and many people flock there to escape the more oppressive seasons in other states. It is a breath-taking place with the view of the mountain ranges, but not all is calm. Diclonius have finally found the secret lab, and just in time. The whole city will be their home, battlefield, and meeting grounds as they confront the Righteous Saviors and push forward to rescue their rights to existence. Some will be dragged in to it. Others are willing to spill the blood needed to pay the toll. All of them will be outnumbered, but they have the power to even the odds.

    Other Rules
1.) No Godmodding at any time
2.) Bunnying is allowed IF AND ONLY IF all involved persons are properly notified and told what their character will do/what happens to them (along with a notification to me that the bunnying was ok'd). At any time when bunnying is used where I'm not notified, or I get a complaint and proof that one did not get permission, I will investigate. If I deem it necessary, I will ask the offender to leave.
3.) Extras can be made to advance the plot. In the case of a Diclonian extra, they have to reach some sort of closure (leaves/dies/etc.). Human extras can become regulars as long as the limit hasn't been reached
4.) A non-graphic romance between characters is allowed.
5.) This RP is M for violence, but try to keep it within reason

    The Goal
Who will win the struggle between Humans and Diclonius? Will Humans be able to eliminate the Diclonius, or will the Diclonius be successful in starting a new world order? Or perhaps at the end of it the two sides find a way to coexist. It's not about who wins and who loses, but the creativity of the RP'ers.

    The SU
Diclonians will not just be handed out. If you'd like to control a Diclonius character, fill out as much of the SU as possible, but under "Race" type 'Diclonius (being verified).' If I okay it, you can edit out '(being verified).' ALL parts of the SU are important to a certain extent. While some parts don't have to be filled, filling them might help your case.

I'm actually rather interested :3 Here are my two SU's. I'm going to assume I will edit these to the latter two SU's when I get the a-okay, and also, I'm not sure if horns were mentioned. What exactly are they?

    Spoiler:

This is the gist of what I understood. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    My Characters

Ok, these are my characters for this RP:

Name: Dontae (no real last name; he's abandoned it)
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
    Race: Diclonius
    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

    Alignment: Diclonius
    History:
    Spoiler:

Horn Structure: Although his horns managed to break through the flesh on top of his head, they are more in the shape of fox ears. It makes them all the more noticeable, so he doesn't bother hiding them.
Vector: Dontae has four Vectors. Although not as strong as most Vectors, they can reach a distance of five meters and thrash through more common metals. He can still deal significant blows to other Diclonius, too.
Special: Dontae's psychic powers are so strong that he can use his vectors as receptors for life energy. More specifically, he can locate specific people (and not just Diclonius like all the others) and pick up on how they feel.
    History with Humans:
    Spoiler:

    Name: Miku Wavecrest
    Age: 19
    Gender: Female
    Race: Human
    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

    Alignment: Undecided
    History:
    Spoiler:

Weapons/Tech: other than her own feet and fists, none
Valuables?: Miku wears a small wooden charm that Dontae made for her years ago. It's in the likeness of a crescent moon
    History with Diclonians:
    Spoiler:

    Name: Moran Wavecrest
    Age: 58
    Gender: Male
    Race: Human
    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

    Alignment: Humans

    Spoiler:

Weapons/Tech: Moran keeps a customized magnum on his person at all times. It packs quite a punch that gives even the sturdiest of Vectors trouble to deflect.
Valuables?: Moran keeps a photo of his late wife and Miku inside his wallet.
    History with Diclonians:

    **************

A few corrections/notices I should make clear now before people get confused:

    - When I said "ten people maximum," I meant ten RP'ers.

    - The "horns" of a Diclonius are protrusions of the skull that have broken through the flesh at birth. They are, on standard, in the likeness of cat ears, but I am allowing them to be customized with the Diclonian "Horn Structure" part of the SU

    - Mature language is allowed as long as it isn't a too constant occurrence (it's fun to drop the F-bomb, but the explosion is lackluster if it overstays its welcome)

    - I probably won't wait for the minimum 6 to appear before I start this RP because things have been kinda slow with the people wanting to try it out. If you want to apply there's still time, and there will always be time to apply after it begins

(Well, seeing as no one appears interested to join this RP just yet, we might as well start now. I'll kick things off. It's rather long, but it sets things up for the beginning. Anyone reading this know that in no way do I expect long epics like this; I had some pent-up RP muse that needed to come out XD )

Seven years. To think that it's been that long since the boy had last been in this city. Fuyuharu Town wasn't the largest place around, but big things were happening underneath the streets. Literally; the next stage in the war between Humans and Diclonius was about to unfold in this town, and, at first, most of the citizens will be none the wiser about it. After his long journey in the crusade to protect his race of people, Dontae had gained the information he needed. He finally learned the truth about the vaccine to cure Humans of the genetic infection that Diclonius give off. If the Humans manage to cure each other of the infection, things would get harder yet again for the Diclonius to expand their numbers. This couldn't happen; not after years of being attacked and looking for leads on the Righteous Saviors. Dontae had to do something, and fortunately for him the secret base developing the vaccine was in his hometown.

"After all this time, fate is bringing me back here..." Dontae said to himself, staring with vacant eyes as he let his vectors unfurl from his back. At his command, they started to vibrate. They were sending sonar-like waves that pulsed throughout the entire town. They were sending back signals of lifeforms that caught and reflected back the waves; Humans and Diclonius. "... of all the places that I could go, it had to be this one. What sort of cruel joke am I being set up for?" He was trying to find specific life signatures. This was because the place he was looking for was underground. Even with his ability to find people, it was useless trying to find people underground while he was above ground. And, although he knew where the place was, access points were difficult to find. It was also difficult remembering which access point he used to escape. His only hope was to find some member(s) from Righteous Saviors scurrying above ground and follow to the entrance of the base. Working fast, he took samples of different people from different areas of town and made a quick scan of their memories. He didn't need much to identify a member of RS. All he needed was an image of inside the base, and he had someone.

Eventually, three life-forces came to his attention. They were hurrying into the middle of the road, and seemed to be lifting something up. Taking a quick scan of one of them randomly, Dontae saw a little boy running down the halls of the secret base he remembered. One of them also started to disappear from the sonar; it was a female going underground. Those three were who he was looking for, and there was no mistaking it. "Not even a block away. I found you," Dontae said gravely, allowing his vectors to cease their sonar. The teenager turned to his left and began his march to confront the three members.

    ***

"Hurry up, Bastion! We're running late!" a woman yelled from below the streets. She was on the ladder in a manhole leading to the sewers. By the look of her clothes, she was a lab scientist. That's why she climbed down first; it would look suspicious if a scientist dressed too inappropriately to be working in the sewers was caught holding the manhole cover or waiting to go down second. Above ground, the man holding the manhole cover seemed irritated by his co-worker's command.

"You're the one who refused to wear the worker clothes! Not to mention you're the one getting us late in the first place with your prattling about coffee!!" Bastion growled down the hole as he sat with his legs going into it. Indeed, if they were to be chastised for being late it was because she had to dislike the coffee that was available in their workplace. Sighing heavily, the man bickered to himself as he prepared for his own descent down into the sewers. "That Naomi just loves pissing me off. Hunter, hold the cover for me. You're last." The third person, a rather portly man in his early thirties, grabbed the cover to allow his co-worker to let go and carefully descend down the ladder himself.

"I don't know what you're complaining about. I'm always the one who has to go last. This thing is so heavy that it's difficult to multitask getting onto the ladder and keeping the cover up," Hunter said as he waited for Bastion to get far enough down to make his own way to the sewers below. When it was safe, he struggled to keep the cover up as he sat down and stepped onto the ladder. Carefully, he took one step down, let his hand slide down to the next rung, set the other foot on the same rung as the other, repeated these steps until his head was barely above ground, and... whoops! The cover slipped!! Hunter lowered his head as much as possible and braced for impact as the manhole cover dropped. It was about to land on his head until it stopped shy. Shaky from the sudden scare, Hunter looked up to see a pair of legs and a hand keeping the manhole in place. "Oh God, that was too close. Is that you, Dave? Thanks for that!" Hunter said breathlessly. The person didn't return pleasantries.

"It has been a while, hasn't it? I can see why you can't remember," A voice called from above the cover. Though calm, it held a dark and very cold tone. Hunter could tell it wasn't who he thought it was, but it still sounded familiar. Suddenly, the hand lifted the manhole cover up carefully. It slowly revealed who it was. Hunter got progressively ill as he saw the devastated state of the person's body. The person had incredibly tattered clothes; almost to the point of rags. The pants were covered in what appeared to be dried blood, and the parts of the legs that weren't protected due to the large holes were also coated in dried blood. All the dried blood continued up to the shirt. The shirt was torn all around and had more gaping holes than the pants. From Hunter's perspective, he could see that not every spot revealed on the torso was covered in blood. By the look of the figure, a teenage boy was the one holding the cover up. And, as for the head, there wasn't a single drop of blood on it! As the manhole cover revealed the person's head from the bottom-up, it was the only thing untouched by all the blood. Instead, as set of cold, red eyes were looking down harshly at the man down in the manhole. As the two locked eyes for the first time, Hunter also watched as a grim smile overtook the boy's mouth. He seemed to know the man, but the man still had no clue. That was until the top of the head was revealed, and Hunter was allowed to see the bone horns. Not only did he know that it was the mark of the Diclonius, but he also knew the formation. He stammered in complete shock as he remembered the fox-ear horns, trembling in fear as he knew what that meant. It might have very well meant that he was about to die in a few seconds. "Hello again, Hunter."

"I-i-it's you, 57-1!!" Hunter stammered, trying to reach inside his suit fast while holding onto the ladder. It was too late to act; Hunter could feel the touch of an invisible hand in the middle of his forehead. It didn't kill him, but the fear made him stop short. He had his hand on his gun, but he'd die too quick to use it.

"Nu-uh, you aren't turning your weapon on me today," Dontae said as he kept a firm hand on the manhole cover. He didn't need to free that hand because he had four more to use for whatever he needed to do. His smile had faded as soon as Hunter said '57-1.' Now it was neither a smile nor frown, but the neutral stance was twice as threatening. "Can you believe it's been nine years since you shot at me down those very halls below us? You could've made me lose an eye or something."

"Please, I'm sorry! Don't kill me!" Hunter pleaded, his gun hand shaking violently as he felt the invisible hand leave his forehead.

"Relax, Hunter. I don't make petty grudges for such shallow reasons," the boy said, looking around at the people walking nearby, "I could cause a scene by killing you and your two friends, but then all of these innocent people may have to die. If there's one thing I hate, it's people who get in my way. But you don't want that, do you?"

"What-- what do you want?!" Hunter asked as he looked down the hole. Dontae knowing about Naomi and Bastion further terrified the man. Neither of them could be visibly seen where the boy was. He had to have been following them, Hunter thought gravely, or else he wouldn't have known.

"Oh? That's funny. You seem a little more... compliant than most RS members," Dontae said in a false confusion. Taking a chance, the man pulled out his gun and aimed it at Dontae's heart. He pulled the trigger fast and numerously, but nothing came out. It was only then that he realized that Dontae's vectors had ripped out the gun's bullet chamber. His fear peaked, and he let out a quick scream of dismay as he prepared for some kind of backlash. Only it didn't come. However, Dontae observed the act more closely and came up with his conclusion. "That's right...! You guys failed to get to get statistical data on me! That explains everything. You know about me because you had me, but since I haven't been here in years you have yet to see my hands in action. I've destroyed any and all video cameras in the other bases I visited, and just about everyone who I've come across in Righteous Saviors has met their end before divulging my secrets. In short, you have no strategies and no precautions in how to deal with me as an opponent. I suppose I'd be scared too if I didn't have my own vectors to deal with a Diclonian enemy that I knew nothing about."

"Hey, Hunter! Stop fooling around and get down here! I'm almost to the bottom and Naomi is waiting!" Bastion's voice echoed from below. He sounded a little ways off, but hardly far. Dontae was already figuring about how far down the other member was.

"Cute, they don't know I'm here. Let's keep it that way," the boy said as he leaned casually on the manhole cover, "It's really not that difficult to understand: If you keep your mouth shut, and let me follow you to the base so that I can get my hands on that vaccine data, I'll let you live. Unlike most of you Humans, I know how to be a man of my word. You'll not have your life shortened by my hands if you cooperate."

"You said it yourself, you've killed almost every member of our organization you've come across!" Hunter protested as he switched glances between Dontae and down the hole where his co-workers were. The teenager merely shrugged as he seemed to recall every situation he ever had with the organization.

"Well, in my defense they shot at me first, and I never promised that I'd allow them to live. But to say 'almost every member' is to admit that I graciously decide not to manhunt every single member and kill them like the filth they are," Dontae argued, adding an air of sophistication to his words. More and more he seemed to make Hunter believe that he really wasn't going to die. He truly may not; if he were to cooperate, that is. "But right now I'm feeling different. I don't want to have to kill you, Hunter. There's a sort of special connection between us: kind of like father and son. Naomi's kind of like my mother, too. the two of you raised me in that secret base I'm trying to get to. You two nurtured me, taught me, and even showed me some kind of Human kindness. Even if it was all forced, you two were the lesser of the evils that went on down there. Don't make me kill the two of you." Hunter looked up as he contemplated the boy's words. He seemed to really consider the deal that the teenager made. However, the man yelled down the hole. Dontae frowned with disappointment.

"Naomi, Bastion!! Look out, he's here! It's him! It's Do--" Hunter yelled as loud as he could. As the man yelled the boy's name, Dontae used a single finger from one of his vectors to lance the man's skull. It was a nearly instant and silencing kill, but it was enough.

"Hunter? What is it? Who's here?" Bastion called out from the bottom of the manhole. He was a few steps away from being able to step onto solid ground again, but he looked up as he tried to see what was going on with his co-worker. Instead, a warm drop of liquid splashed onto his face. He stuck his finger into it and examined a sample. Although the lighting was terrible down in the sewers, there was no mistaking the shade of red. "Blood?" As soon as he said it, Bastion gasped suddenly as his shoulder was cut. His own blood fell to the floor, and he was bleeding out to death. Naomi screamed as Bastion's blood dripped in mid-air. It was in the shape of a human hand.

"A Diclonius!!" Naomi shrieked as she stepped away from the ladder. It was hard to tell how long the vector could reach, but from where it was down the ladder it had to be about five meters. The hand slowly climbed its way back up the manhole. She was fortunate that five meters seemed to be the limit. The sound of the manhole cover fitting back into place sounded from above, too. On the other hand, Hunter's dead body hit Bastion's dying body with a clumsy thud. There was also the sound of something grinding down to the hole. Curious, Naomi stepped forward carefully and watched as Dontae nimbly landed on top of both bodies. He must've jumped from the ground above and used two of his vectors to support his straight-down descent to the sewers.

"Well, was that impressive, Naomi?" Dontae asked, staring at the distraught woman with a sly smile. He casually stepped off the two corpses and began to take steps towards her. Naomi, at the same time, took steps back as the boy tried to approach her. She continued walking backwards until the stench of the sewage became too strong. Looking behind her, she could see that she was only a foot away from the edge of the murky water. "Or, are you still playing mommy?"

"No!!" Naomi yelled, pulling out her own weapon and aimed it at the boy's head. As soon as she did, a vector still invisible to sight slapped her hands. It stung quite a bit, and it effectively disarmed her. Her only means of defense flew out of her hands and was caught by the bloody vector. The vector threw the gun into the water. "No, no! I was your mother, remember?! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I didn't treat you as well as I should have, and I'm sorry my co-workers were so harsh with you! I swear, I regret it every day! Please don't kill me!! I'm so scared!!!" Dontae paused for a moment. He watched as the scientist trembled in fear. She seemed to have meant it. Commanding his vectors to pulse again, he focused all his attention on Naomi. It was easy for him to pick up on what she was feeling because her emotions were so haywire that they were an open book. It was clear to the boy that the scientist was lying about most of it.

Smiling, Dontae continued to pace towards Naomi. At first it scared her, but then she saw the look in his eyes. They seemed gentler; his whole aspect changing. His coldness faded. He seemed to be a new person altogether. Naomi started to well up with tears as he got so close to her that he could reach out and touch her. When he got close enough, she grabbed him and held him close. Her tears started to flow down her cheek as she forced him to nuzzle between her shoulder and neck. She cooed "I love you"s into his ear. As she showed her motherly affection, Dontae did nothing. He didn't use his vectors, move his arms, or even say anything. It was as if he was in a state of complete paralysis. "You need help. I'll get you to a bath, some change of clothes, and good food. I love you, Dontae," Naomi whispered softly as she straightened herself out to gaze into his eyes. However, the boy's eyes were already closed. He leaned in and planted his lips on the scientist's cheek. It wasn't a quick peck; the kiss lasted for a short while. Naomi ran her fingers through his hair as he did. This made the boy reach out and hug the woman firmly. When Dontae was done kissing his fake mother, he leaned in further to say something into her ear.

"Die," Dontae whispered, his physical hands spreading out wide. Naomi gasped as she felt a quick jolt of pain from her breast. The boy's already bloody vector had lanced her heart. The pain was intense, but in a matter of seconds the pain began to dull. Her vision was becoming black, but she willed herself to see in her last few seconds. Life fading fast, she merely stared at the boy as a second vector shoved her off the first one and her body arced into the murky water of the sewers.

The boy sighed as he backed away from the sewer water. His sense of smell was getting so offended by the stench that he couldn't keep the facade up anymore. All the while his dirty vectors were shaking off the impurities on themselves. Simply retreating them would remove all the blood and dirt just fine, but this was a habit that became a mark of his presence. He wanted the Righteous Saviors to be able to look back and know he had been there. "I suppose it was unfair not to let you know that I can sense the feelings of people, and by extension I can tell if they're lying, but you made a pretty low blow yourself," Dontae spoke to himself, as if Naomi was still in front of him, "I mean, how lame was it to pull that hair crap? You knew I love that. Relax, though, I made your death as quick and clean as possible. You died before your body even hit the water. It's the very least I owe you for that sentimental moment."

With that, Dontae turned back to see the other two corpses. It was going to be too much of an effort to move them, and noon wasn't going to be for several hours. Unless someone looked down the hole with a light source, they weren't going to find the bodies until that time. Besides, he needed to hurry on his way. With three RS members down, he had to get back into stealth quickly before more came to look for them. And, when they do find them, they will be looking for him, too.
