    Introduction:
Hello, long time lurker and first-time poster, I love rom hacks and I love playing them on console. Hacks like Vega and unbound mean a lot to me and I play them a lot. Here today I have made my first minor step in rom hacks even though it's not much I'm proud of what I have done. now that your here on the thread your probs asking, what is Vega Sprite Consistency Fix? VSCF for short, is a patch that adds in missing sprites for a lot of the boss only Pokémon. in the game some sprites were missing due to these Pokémon not being seen or usually caught. in this patch back sprites, Party icons and even shinys for these boss Pokémon are added. all this was done with Hex Mechanic Advance and done in a single day.

    Why do this?
Simple, there are going to be some playthroughs (or people using cheats to get these Pokémon, don't do that play the game normally) where you face these Pokémon and use the move transform on them. the added sprites are to ensure that things stay consistent with the rest of the game. In the event cheats are used or the move transform is used on them it's as if they weren't missing and there all along.

Why add in shinys, back sprites and party icons If they can't be caught?
for the shinys, same reason Game Freak coded in Shiny Celebi. only in this case these boss Pokémon were never meant to be caught, only seen.
as for the back sprites and party icons, same reason as stated above in "Why do this?". for consistency across the game, even though they are meant to be seen only, it seemed fair to give them the same treatment as the rest of the Pokémon in Vega.

    So, what was added?
in order these changes were made on the following Pokémon

    Back Sprites:
    Clone Pikachu
    Clone Charizard
    Clone Venusaur
    Clone Blastoise
    Shadow Lugia
    Primal Dialga
    Hat form Doodloo

    Shinys:
    Clone Pikachu
    Clone Charizard
    Clone Venusaur
    Clone Blastoise
    Shadow Lugia
    Primal Dialga
    Hat form Doodloo
    Clone Numea

    Party Icons:
    Clone Pikachu
    Clone Charizard
    Clone Venusaur
    Clone Blastoise
    Shadow Lugia
    Primal Dialga
    Hat form Doodloo
    Clone Numea
    Blizzard form Asphere
    Thunder form Asphere

all party icons were my own edits of the ones used both in game and the other two games connected to Vega, Blizzard and Thunder form Asphere had to be recreated because Hex Mechanic Advance refused to read the games these forms are seen in. the sprites for the party icons had to be found via google from playthrough screen shots and the wiki for the hacks. Hat form Doodloo back sprite was also my own edit of a standard Doodloo back sprite.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so were at the end now, thank you for reading my thread here! but I'd like to say a few things before the credits. this Patch is ONLY a sprite fix and not the full game of Vega redistributed. if you don't want the sprite fix patch you don't have to download this. this patch is meant for the Translation version of Pokémon Vega by Dr. Akimbo in order to work. DO NOT PATCH ON THE JAPANESE VERSION, I haven't tested on the original so I wouldn't recommend you try.

one last thing I want to add, there were a few oddities if found while working on this patch using a test version I wiped up with an edited first route encounter to test sprites.
every Pokémon that has sprites added in is usable as normal with no game crash.
(Maybe at one point you were meant to get them but doesn't seem that way)

the clone starters if caught at any level have the moves they use agents you in the 8th gym.
Clone pikachu lacks its moves from the 8th gym when caught.

Blizzard and thunder form of Asphere were in the game and were only needing party sprites.
(To me it seems like you were meant to trade over these forms from Altair and Sirius or change forms some way in Vega)

Hmmmm... so this is for "Vanilla" Vega, right? Asking because recently, someone made a complete Vega revamp adding new sprites and stuff. So i take it this wouldn't work with that version?

Yes, this is for vanilla but for the English translation as linked in the post. do not patch to the Japanese version or vega fairy, you can try but at your own risk.

does this patch fix the title screen bug that crashes the game on real hardware/console? or is it just a sprite fix?
    1) i don't know how to fix that, i haven't had that bug happen before. id test with a clean emerald rom or emerald trash man rom and see if it can be replicated. its probs the rom you used that caused this with the vega patch. if it happens with this patched onto the vega rom, I have no clue or know how to fix it.

    2) this is just a sprite fix in the event someone does end up using ditto in an actual serious playthrough (or ends up using transform through ether learn set or metronome access.) it's a rare thing to do but all this does is just gives proper back sprites and shiny sprites to some boss only pokemon. this is just purely cosmetic and to keep consistently with all the other sprites in game. think of it as how gamefreak gave celebi a shiny sprite in gen3 even tho its shiny locked, this patch is basically that logic.

also, I'm not really active here but I check once in a while. you can reach out to me on Discord, I go by Trapmask there so if you have any further questions, reach out there.
