Version Exclusives

ORandAS has a point. While we saw the end of one pattern in 5th Gen, we did see the start of a new one. Sure, we don't know if it's established but with the confirmation of a Pokemon game coming to Switch that Game Freak is working on, we could say that will be the eventual 8th Gen debut game.

I don't expect there to be anything new with USUM. It'll probably keep the same exclusives as SM, and there's no reason why they should look into it - I don't think it'll enrich the games at all; rather, it'd just cause a lot of confusion in the fans and probably cause a good deal of people to purchase the wrong copy, in terms of which version exclusive 'mons they wanted on their team.

The Alola Dex will be expanded with some additional old Pokemon, so there's a good chance some of them could get the version exclusive treatment as well.

That's true. Historically, there are other pokemon who were reintroduced during third games/sequels that are version exclusives.

On the top of my head, Slowpoke/Poliwag and Gible/Bagon on B2W2.
