So my idea is to have 3 sets of trivia - Easy (casual gamers), Intermediate and Hard (enthusiasts), this way there will be something in it for everyone. I'm thinking of making the format similar to Gunner's previous trivia events, where the questions will just be released all at once and people can PM their answers to me any time before the end of the GT.

I don't think we should run it like the Advent Calendar for two reasons - the questions I put in the AC were asking people for their opinions and stuff so that could be shared in thread, but trivia will have right and wrong answers so it's best to have them PMed. And also it was kind of a hassle for me to put up a new set of questions every day :P

We can't prevent people from Googling answers, but I'll try to incorporate as many questions as I can that will make it difficult to just look up the answers without some knowledge of the game/franchise. Stuff like using cropped up images, similar to WTP, to identify characters, or something like "how do you earn this achievement?" (with just an image of the achievement with no text cue) etc. There's also an audio player that's just the play button (no text) so I could use that to play some VGM and ask which game it's from. That sort of thing should be more difficult to "cheat".

    CATEGORIES

Within each difficulty set, there will be 4 categories:
    Mainstream Games
    Indie Games
    Twitch Culture & eSports
    The Gaming Industry

    POINTS SYSTEM

I want to award points per question depending on the category, but I'm not sure if it'll be too much if I follow the distribution system outlined in the points thread. Following the daily distribution it'll be:

5 pts for each correct Easy answer
7 pts for each correct Intermediate answer
10 pts for each correct Hard answer

Or I could scale it down to:

1 pts for each correct Easy answer
3 pts for each correct Intermediate answer
5 pts for each correct Hard answer

Which I think I prefer more.

    TO DO

More questions to be added, categorizing by difficulty and I'll start the CSS tomorrow

Think you know your video games? Test your knowledge (and represent your house!) with us this Get Together. Every trivia question you answer correctly will earn you points for your house, so don't be afraid to send in those answers!

There are two components to this event; read on to learn more about each.

    HOW THIS WORKS

THE TRIVIA SET - PM ONLY!
The structure of this portion of the event is very simple - below you will find a set of trivia questions, and to participate, all you have to do is PM your answers to me. THE DAILY TRIVIA - ANSWER IN THREAD!
In addition to the main trivia set, I will be throwing out questions periodically throughout each day, and unlike the trivia set, these are first come, first serve and are to be answered in this thread - whoever answers it correctly first will take a few extra points for their house, so keep your eyes peeled for new questions and be ready to answer!
