I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find it (obviously lol).

My question is how can I see my reputation and who gave it to me (and possibly why?), because I know at one point I had negative reputation..

Hrm, just thought of something while I was typing.. Does the reputation tie in with your infractions?

You can find all your reputation details in your User Control Panel.

But you won't be able to see who's given it to you, unless they have stated themselves in their comments. It's also not possible to see why you've been given rep or negative rep, unless it has been stated in the comments.

And no, reputation doesn't tie in with your infractions. They're two completely different things.

Each user can see his/her own reputation by visiting his/her User Control Panel. The people who hand out reputation are left anonymous in order to avoid flames from erupting due to negative reputation, although some users will leave usernames along with the comments.

As for reputation being related to infractions...there is no direct connection, as far as I know, although some users might tend to hand out negative reputation for posts that also earned infractions.

Hrm, well I tried to find it in my CP, but I guess I didn't look hard enough =/

But yeah, I did find it actually right before I checked this thread. Apparently, I got a "New Reputation" notification, which I'm pretty sure I've never seen before, even though I do have a few already.

And thanks all, this thread can be closed now ^^

You most likely didn't see that due to the fact that that feature used to be done via PM instead of through a notification like it is now. It was just recently (about two or three days ago) changed to a notification rather than a personal message from the admin account in regards to reputation received, both negative and positive. So it doesn't notify you about past reputation received, which is the reason why the reputation you received prior to the change in the system, if you will, wasn't brought to your attention through a notification.

While we're on the subject... Is it possible to request that a negative reputation is taken off if the user's comment makes it obvious that they didn't know what they were talking about, or had an obviously flawed reason. I wont post the comment to avoid making whoever posted feel bad, but they totally contradicted themselves in the comment.

Yeah. Just talk to an administrator and they'll review it and remove it if it's an inappropriate reason for a negative reputation.

Same thing for positive rep, actually. If there's any unwarranted rep a person wants to get rid of, whether positive or negative, then just go tell an admin. :>

It's just that it's usually negative rep that people usually ask us to get rid of, so it's the one usually mentioned.
