I'm EV training my Torterra, with whom I beat the leauge with. He's at level 62. I gave him EV reducing berries in all stats except HP, Def, & Atk. In those three, I gave him drugs-I mean "vitamins".

With HP, I gave him 5, in def, 1. None in atk.

Here's the question. When I tried to feed him more defense steroids, he refused. But he still took the HP pills, so that means I didn't give him his ten vitamin limit. Since he won't accept anymore in def, does that mean he has max def EV's, or maybe he just won't take def pills but I should still train him in EV, with wild pokemon?

This is my guess. the vitamins give your pokemon 10 evs in that stat. I think for every ten EVs you get in that stat (whether you used a vitamin or not), you will not be able to use the vitamin (so if it has 60 EVs in attack you could only give it 4 proteins). I think this is right but it has a decent chance of being wrong so I'd get someone to confirm this cause i'm not sure.

I think you are right, but I wanna be sure.

My only confirmation is that happened when I was EV training my Snorlax. I'm sure somebody knows.

He's right. Vitamins add 10 ev's to its respective stat but they only add up to 100. If you want more in that stat, you have to train.

So given you give it all the vitamins it can take at hp, def, and sp.def, it would have 100ev's in all 3 stats, and has 210 remaining ev's left for you to distribute to your liking.

So how will I know when I reach the EV limit when training? Wi-fi battles?

EV train against wild pokemon or trainers who carry pokemon that up the EV you want to boost. It has to be ingameso the battles are easy. My best example is some bird guy in FR/LG that has 4 fearows to EV train for speed.
