Thank you very much for all the comments, everyone! <3
- Hate the last one, but putting it up anyway. The third image placed second in the MMF Stock Icotest. <3

This was requested at MMF, but I think four icons is a small update, so it's here, too.
Shiny Vaporeon Tutorial!
(This tutorial was made with and for Adobe CS2, but should transfer pretty well. Very basic understanding of Photoshop required. This tutorial works best on blue images.)
Get your base image all cropped and such:
- This is what I started with.
Prep your image – sharpen and such. I used "Filter -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask" and these settings: 14, 42.6, 3.
Now, duplicate your layer and set it to
Lighten at 52%. I have no idea why I did this, as it didn't seem to do much to my image, but it may make your image look nicer. Keep it for now, and just delete it if it doesn't do anything for it.
Now,
desaturate your image. (Shift+Crtl +U) or (Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate) Set it to
Overlay at 52% because I really like the number 52.
Then, take this texture by colorfilter (
) and set it to
Lighten at 100%.
Then take this texture, also by colorfilter (
) and set it to
Color at 56%.
Now, take yet another colorfilter texture (
) and
colorize it. I did this by going to "Image -> Hue & Saturation," checking "colorize" and playing with the settings. I used these:
And you should get something like this.
Then, take your shiny new texture and set it to
Screen at 69%. It was just a little too much on top of Vaporeon's face for me, so I took the
eraser at about 30% power and lightened just a few little bits up. (See below.)
Finally, you duplicate your original image waaay down there at the bottom and drag it up top.
Crop everything but your subject; I used the
Polygonal Lasso Tool to get crop my image. Set this new layer to
Darken at 66%.
Ta-da! All done and now you should have something similar to this:

One of the images looks a little funny now, but I'll fix it later.
