W00t, I caught XD001!

Just wondering, but is the best strategy for catching XD001... Is it using the Master Ball? Or is it better to catch it using Ultra Balls, status problems & confusion, so you can trade the Master Ball into R/S/E and use it to catch Rayquaza (etc.)?
I know it's too late now, but i'd like to know if I should've used the Master Ball. (Which I did.)

its better to use the Master Ball, as you have an instantly won battle, and about Y12,000 better off.

Yeah Using the Master Ball on Lugia would have been the best place to use it. not only does it save your strangth for Grevel. It Also is good to keep a spot open so you can add shadow lugia to your party for the Grevel Battle. Lugia Can Play a Defence agenst his pokemons shadow attacks.
