Receiving Your First Pokemon
First off,you start in your bedroom. This part is extremely simple. Just walk downstairs,then your mom starts telling you that Prof. Elm was looking for you,then she'll teach you about the icons that she puts on the bottom screen of your DS/DSI/DSI XL. They are the basic menu options. Walk out of your house,and a marrill will run up to you. Lyra will walk up from her house and take the marrill away. Then go to Prof. Elm's house,just a little north-west of yours. You might notice there is a red-haired boy on the west side of his house. He has A LOT to do with team rocket,but you can only find out in a event that has already passed. If you can decode this,you'll figure out what he will be later on in the game. Your 18-9-22-1-12. Go in Prof. Elm's lab,and Prof. Elm will jabber on. Then once he FINALLY stops,he tells you to pick a pokemon from his lab,and then run a errand for him. Pick one of your choice. After you get your pokemon,you can name it. After that,Congratulations! You just received your first pokemon!
