Nurse: its a rare form of Magical Backlash... fatal. theyre trying to save her, but... its iffy. she expelled all her magical energy, but it had built up enough to burn her. however, now that her body has expelled all her magic and burnt itself, the physical trauma is causing her body to reject any and all magic. not even healing magic works on this level of resistance... but the lack of magic is tearing her apart from the inside out.

*to Carbuncle and Dogboy through own mic* Excellent news! We're progressing faster than expected! According to the outside, about 50% of her burns are gone! That should mean that her mind is being restored too, right?

*hears no response* Carbuncle? Dogboy?! {Joel, I need to stop for a minute and hide somewhere. Something is amiss. And I think the safest place will be in the wasteland.... I'll reestablish contact soon.} *transforms to hawk**flies at top speed to wasteland*

G: That took too long and was too reassuring. I'll help them when Wings is healed physically. *finds crater with shielded trench**flies in, transforms back* Joel, we gotta hurry. Everyone could be in danger.

Joel: <I've managed to stay linked with you. Wings is now about 62% cured. At the rate we've been going, this should take no time. I just hope her mind is as strong as her body....
