Hey, hey, someone do me a big favor and read this. I'll love you forever~ <3 I wrote it last night- it's the intro to my latest story. XD Does it make any sense, is it any good? I'm hoping so. >_>

The only thing visible… Those black silhouetted figures... The light behind them defined their outlines, filled in by shadows that loomed in the mouth of the alleyway. Two other forms were huddled in the dim corner.

"Get behind me…" His soft voice, usually meek, was now iced over.

"Brother…"

"Shhh…" He gently shoved the girl closer to the wall, furthest from the light, furthest from danger. His hands were shaking, but he dared not allow his voice to waver. "No matter what… Run away." He felt her grasp the stiff white material of his shirt.

"No… I can't… Leave you…"

He had no time to argue. He ripped himself from her hold. "I will see you again." He allowed no uncertainty to taint his tone. "Until then… Don't miss me. Just wait, and don't forget. Somehow, even if we have to be reborn, even if it's a thousand years from now, I'll find you. And even if you don't remember who I am, I'll stay at your side. We'll be together again... That's our unchangeable fate."

He was thankful she couldn't see the fear on his face. He was glad she couldn't see the expression in his eyes. He knew what he must look like- he was peering straight at death. If she had seen his glazed over stare, she would've been even more frightened, and above all, he didn't want that.

He lunged forward, throat gripped by an invisible set of fingers and stomach upset by a churning sensation he worked to ignore. No matter what he was feeling, he couldn't let anything happen to her. If his blood stained the cement, maybe it would be enough to pay her way to escape. She was a part of him, and he a part of her. He would do anything it took to save at least that one fragile, precious half.

I'm so cheesy. -.-'' The intro is the cheesiest part of what I've written so far. Is it way too cheesy? Unbearably so? Or is it okay? >_> <_< >_<

Wah, no, I'd be honored if you read it, Vanitas! : D I like it when people enjoy my writing. :3
This is all I have though, considering I started last night, but yah. There's some explaining to do as to who exactly is after them and all, but that comes later on. :/
So here goes:

The location I was staying was compromised. I don't know if any of the others made it out. I don't know and I can't be bothered with looking for them before moving on.

There's nowhere safe in this city. But if I leave…

Will he still be able to find me?

Shore sucked in a chilled breath of polluted air.

Her sage eyes scanned the crowds for something that would never be there. Still, a childish, naive hope drew her gaze to looking every time.
It had been four months; it was hard to believe it had only been four months since she had been left half dead. Their seventeenth birthday had passed with scarcely any recognition, aside from serving as a bitter reminder of her solitude.

They'd always been together. Now, a sickening sense of loneliness threatened to crush her with the immense pressure it was putting onto her chest. The lost feeling, the forlorn hollowness, forced her to search for his bleached white head bobbing in and out of the streams of people. She always watched for her mirror image, whether she wanted to or not.

She had promised she wouldn't forget. She didn't break promises, even if it shattered her heart to remember.

For the moment, she had not a second to waste on tears or pain. Shore pulled her mini-com from a pocket in her pants. It was the biggest city on the continent- there was bound to be some place to run to.

"Young man… Identification."

Shore glanced up. An officer towered over her. She fumbled for the false cards before handing them to the man.

"Is there… A problem?" She adjusted her voice, lowering the pitch slightly to pass for the male high school student she was supposed to be, according to the false ID. Her short hair fell over her eyes a bit as she averted her gaze.

"No… Everything checks out…" The law enforcer pulled the chips from his handheld and tossed them back to Shore. "Don't go around in such suspicious clothes, son. You'll get yourself into trouble."

She breathed a sigh of relief as the tall form melded with the foot traffic again.

"Insult the way I dress, will you…" She mumbled some more useless complaints, glancing back to the screen of her mini-com. Another day of running away was awaiting her.

The sound of gunshots rang in Shale's ears. Most of them were his own.
He ducked back behind the corner, gulping in a breath before taking a half-step out into the open again and firing several more shots. One last move like that and there was silence.

Shale didn't bother looking at the bodies. He grabbed his hover-board and, throwing it to the ground, hopped atop its smooth, worn surface. His boots fit into the grooves perfectly.

Strapping the heavy gun across his back, the fugitive kept a vigilant eye behind him, half expecting the officers he'd shot to get up and be tailing. He was sure he'd hit the right spots- legs, shoulders, feet, anyplace that would prevent pursuit. He'd considered shooting to kill, but that was always a decision made with great reluctance.

The humming sound of his ride, accompanied by the ringing in his ears, offered the soundtrack of his life; at least within the past four months.

An orphan, a wanted man, seventeen and tow-headed, Shale was in bad shape by preferable standards.

It is a Keyblade. It can unlock anything, and it's ready to unleash your demise. *assumes fighting stance* Are you ready?
