    Were you happy with how Tales of Symphonia ended?

    I'm not sure if it's because I've completed the story & I'm depressed or if it's because the ending did in fact suck, but I didn't really enjoy the ending that much. I mean COME ON! What the !@$# did Lloyd name the new mana tree!? The music fades out what he says in the ending! *cries*

    I'd like to thank everyone from a month & a few weeks back who kept posting in the ToS thread (Kairi). It was because of you guys chatting about how much fun you were having playing it that I even bought the game. I just beat the game today with the completion time of 55 hrs 34 mins 28 sec. I still have plenty of incompleted tasks to preform though, so I'm sure I'll still get many more hours of play out of ToS. I am a bit depressed that the game has ended though. Since ToS has such an awsomely complicated storyline, I hate to see that I've completed it.

    Many RPGs are like that now.

    You think TOS was bad in the ending, Final Fantasy 7 was worse. Until Advent Children was advertised NOBODY even knew if humanity had survived or not. They just showed Holy and the Meteor colliding, an explosion, Aeris' eyes opening, and cut to the credits. While it was freaking awesome, it left us hanging and every game magazine in existence covered this controversial ending. Even Game Informer had no clue how it ended (they tried to pretend they did by using clever farces of symbolism and rememberance, but they didn't know. They just embarassed themselves with that article).

    My point. In TOS, you saved both worlds, and knew that they were saved. There was no question about that, so don't complain about the name of the new Tree. It's not as if two spells collided and the game cut to the credits...

    I am a hardcore FF fan but... I wanted to get ToS because it seemed like a cool game..... Just my luck I had to kill myself the joy of the ending!" ><;;.

    This isn't exactly a complaint thread. Tis a poll on if you liked or disliked ToS's ending. Nothing more nothing less.

    But yeah, I see your point.

    First of all, even though it should be obvious, I added a spoiler warning to your title. And you're welcome; that discussion was very fun, and really pulled me into the game. ^_^;

    A lot of FF7 people are really upset about AC, cause they liked the way they ended 7. But that's offtopic.

    ToS had a great storyline. Far better than a lot of RPGs today. It was complex, there was lots of foreshadowing…excellent. The voice acting is of a pretty high quality, and it draws you in. Kratos being Lloyd's dad is well done, as is all the stuff with Yggdrasil and Botta/Yuan. The too obvious placement of Mithos was a nifty little addition. I think the goal of Mithos was a bit…odd, but otherwise, great characters and such. The plot really flows smoothly with the game. They tell a lot of story, but you never feel like it's overwhelming.

    All the characters really branch out and develop, thanks in part to the skits. I was skeptical of them at first…but they really DO work. Now as for the ending..I liked it. It was a conclusion, and you see where all the characters go afterwards. Tara Strong's voice acting for Presea was especially convincing at Alica's grave, I really liked that.

    pretty good ending.He named the tree yggdrasil.The lyoid/kratos dad thing was kinda off though.
