    so, i have one one of my maps a thing happening where when i switch routes and enter this one, there are some wierd textures, but then if i enter the pokemon center or open my bag/pokemon menu they fix themselves.

    why dont the load correctly the first time? did i put the wrong connection offset?

    @Hexx17

    The engine can only load two tilesets at a time. If two different maps use a different second tileset, the tiles on the map will immediately change after entering a map with a different second tileset.

    Ergo, make sure that both maps share the same second tileset, make sure that you only use tiles from the first tileset around map connections or use those safe houses (like in Fire Red) between two connected maps.

    thats odd, it doesnt do that with any other connection
    edit: probably because most routes are only using the top half...

    thank you, i got it fixed

    I have a related question: is it possible to load a different Tileset 1 on entering a new map by connection? Perhaps a script could trigger the tileset change? If not, could somebody explain why this isn't possible?

    The game is programmed to only load tileset 2 on entering map connections, but I don't think there is any technical limitation stopping you from changing that.
