Because I have burns of them already...

But Britt, I don't consider them sellouts as they never sold themselves as "uber-punk" anyway...
Nah, that's not what I mean by sellouts. I mean that they got sponsered by a bunch of companies, that don't even care about the music, and only for the sole purpose of getting rich.

They're letting themselves become something that they aren't just for money. It like defeats the purpose of the music that they wrote.

Don't get me wrong though, GC definetly used to be the best band, and I liked their older music, but I think their new music kinda :dead:

Umm, anyways, thats just me, so feel free to ignore :)

Don't say that they sucked, you poser. XD

SoTY is like the only kind of music(on that list) in the genre we are choosing from XD

Britt, is a double-post right for someone who's running for president? XD

GC have changed so much.... you could say their early stuff was punk-hop, then it went into straight pop-punk-rock and now they've gone a bit emo XD. I'm really looking forward to Chronicles though. Perhaps I'll get that, since it comes in two versions.

Double posting, YAY!
~Vote Brittany for President, and she will try to make double posting legal!:D (I can always try but its not gonna happren XD)

Well, out of that list theres not any I agree with really that much, maybe TBS or Trapt.
But try STOY, The Used, Finch, stuff like that.

Get Simple Plan becuase that are better then GC. Both are sellouts thought. Also get Simple Plan becuase they are Canadian.(Go Canada Go) I never knew Simple Plan cds were avabile outside of Canada.

Simple Plan is HUGE in Australia anyway. XD

I might get Trapt, I've been wanting it ever since I heard "Headstrong", "Echo" is even better and Trapt doesn't have much of a following here.

Yea Trapt is good. I think you should go for that.

Well, a old punk recommendation is ''The Ramones'' CD ''It's alive!'', is one of the best moments of the band, that concert was in 1977, in the new year night...so awesome, they played a very good concert!!.

I'm not huge on the old stuff though... like a bit of Thursday, that's it XD

/me will probably go with Trapt XD

Can someone please explain to me what it really means to be "punk"?

Well, legitimatly, Punk is described as anarchy, and rebellion. So, Good Charlotte, singing about how they miss their ex...or about what a `bad girl` their current girlfriend is...isn`t exactly punk. Nor is singing about how the rich people complain too much (funny, they`re rich people complaining about how rich people complain...conformists!!!) or singing about how girls only like cars, and money. Which, by the way, I`ve found to be true only 20% of the time, and that`s only with the preppy types.
Punk would be like AFI (I don`t like them...at all.) who talks about how the government is messed up.
Uhm, or The Offspring, who talk about political sort of stuff in their music.
The Missfits (one of my favorite bands) have a punk`ish sound to their stuff, but, most of their lyrics are about nothing. `I want your skull! I need your skull!`
Blink 182 isn`t punk, either. However, I do like them, but, they use power chords for EVERYTHING!!! Seriously, you could teach a 2 year old how to do power chords in like, five or six minutes.
Punk isn`t completely about the image, it`s about the message they want to get across. Basically...SCREW THE GOVERNMENT! WE ARE DIFFERENT!!! ...They want to stand out, because...well, then they feel special.

Is that Graham Norton in your avatar? Lol. Nice.

Uhm...Anyway, JEW (XD!! The name abriviated says jew!) could never compare to some good ol` Led Zeppelin. I`d get a Zeppy CD before I got anything else. Unless, of course, it was the new KoRn...That`d be a new story.

Yes...Good point...they are kinda close in style...well, moderately.

Actually...(Go ahead...bash me for this...) the new Avril Lavigne CD is pretty good. She`s really gotten more rocked out kind of. So...Yeah. Rarely ever does a second album make the first seem mediocre. This, manages to do so.

I like Jimmy Eat World, but it's more emo. And I'd rather get one of the ones on my list first.

I already have Avril's new one. And it's so much better than Let Go. XD I thought Let Go was pretty good, actually...

I know exactly what you mean XD. And the cool thing is that this one she didn't even do with the Matrix! It really proves that she actually can write.
