As the title suggests, this would be a fun article meant to put forth fun or unique ideas for Pokémon games on the switch.

There are plenty of game ideas and I think this would be a good time to discuss it. With E3 around the corner we could see some big announcements. Something Reggie has hinted at himself and that just makes sense with a new console coming out and being massively successful.

With the new 2ds being announced, it seems unlikely that we will see anymore 3ds games after this year as it seems very like the GB micro, and all current announced games are titles that are small and dont seem to have taken much to make ( outside of echos, but thats still a remake). Not to mention that the switch fits a portable console very well and nobody really brought the 3ds for the 3d, but the portability and game list.

With the switch selling so fast out of the gate it logically to go with your new home console that also works as a really solid and better portable system then their current lineup. This reduces costs and makes things much easier as they only need to focus on one market and console essentially instead of two.

Plus the rumors of things like stars seem to back this up too by saying the game would be a port and started on switch. That would make it really easy to make a brand new pokemon game and push sales of the console even more. Something Nintendo recently said they have several titles they know will sell the switch even more this year. A pokemon sun and moon port could easily be one of those especially when all events have been used and this new game can expand lore and allow them to make more events and movies within the anime universe to promote this.

I'd say there's a pretty solid case for Pokemon moving to the switch sooner then many expect and the switch can give us some great titles that could be discussed within the article. Like maybe a XD or colleseum sequel, maybe another mystery dungeon, the planned but changed fire emblem crossover or much more. There's more I could say, but I think thats a good amount of examples.

    Thoughts?

    Overall I like the idea.

I don't quite follow this, given Nintendo have also said that there will be more titles at E3/after and they intend for the 3DS to go into 2018. While it could be just typical corporate/stock holder pleasing, that and plans to sell 40 million of software for 3DS alone next year is ambitious. Plus there is more than FE Echoes - Ever Oasis is a brand new title for instance.

MD makes sense given the franchise is still going. XD sequel is a pipe dream but one I would love. Also, Snap 2 would work well with the Switch (same could have been said of 3DS/Wii U however...)

While ever Oasis is a new ip, it doesn't seem to high budget and they don't seem to focus that much on it. Along with Pikmin, it was missing for months with no mention of its existence. I think that this can show that while the 3ds line is being supported, we aren't see big or bigish titles for it, unlike the switch and what's being hinted at. E3 will likely back this up if the statement of having titles they know will sell be announced for the switch.

E3 I think will be the biggest evidence we will get, but we need to wait and see. I know they want to sell that many 3ds systems, but if your advertising and selling your new 2ds for cheaper, everyone will go for it as its the same thing and the system getting the focus. I'd imagine they want the 2ds sales to count towards the 3ds. (unless their financial reports separate the two, but I don't believe that is the case).

As for games, pokemon snap two would be great and makes no sense for being absent from the Wii U. I put MD their because its possible, but I think that the way they made Super, they want to take a break from the franchise, but I can see it return within the Switch's lifetime at one point or another.

Eh, they've hyped it up and revealed it at last year's E3; no small platform for it. Will agree Pikmin 3DS title is closer to a spinoff (different company making it, mechanics, etc).

Anyways - my point is that it's fine to speculate the 3DS may well end this year with proper support but be careful not to state it as fact or the like, given the noises do still afford it the real possibility of remaining relevant beyond this year.

(Pretty sure 2ds = 3ds sales wise for Nintendo. It plays 3DS games after all, it just lacks the 3D feature.)

    Oh, also +1. =p
