Pokemon have Abilities. Great Pokemon have memorable abilities that "Change the game" in some small way through the influence it has on the battle. Shedinja's Wonder Guard invalidates teams that lack any way to deal with him(or allowed every option that counters Shedinja to faint), while Slaking's Truant is easily exploited by Protect. Magic Bounce bounces a foe's status moves back at their user, and Protean lets you change your ability with every turn.
Looking at existing code within Pokemon Essentials, what could be copypasted and slightly-edited or combined with some more code to make some creative game-changing abilities anyone can use?
For example:
A copy of the ability ability Water Bubble (Doubles your Water-type damage, halves incoming Fire damage, and prevents burns) would be great on Electrode if you changed it to Steel Ball (Doubles Steel-type damage and halves incoming Ground damage and prevents burns).
Protean, the ability that changes the type of its user to match the move he's using, would be great on a Smeargle. If his offensive stats were boosted and he gained a Farfetch'd-style signature item that increased his offensive stats or crit ratio, he'd make a great and unpredictable glass cannon able to provide needed coverage to any team, he'd easily make OU without needing to rely on gimmicky status/stat-boosting sets. Giving him Mold Breaker as a second ability choice would vastly improve his ability to be a reliable status/stats guy.
