4th Gen What Did You Name You, Your Rival, and Your Pokemon?

Lol I named myself Felix (on the girl because well, I'm one of those things) and my rival Cyril. I wish we could somehow rename them without restarting.

I've given up naming every pokemon I catch and just name my main team:
Nausicaa (female Feraligatr),
Kitsune (fem. Ninetails),
Oyenstikk[e]r (Yanma, means dragonfly in Norweigan IIRC - also the 'e' didn't fit),
Loki (fem. Misdreavus - to be renamed some day),
Marduk (male Ampharos),
and Arkaitz (male Larvitar - means stone in Basque)
 
I named myself Olivia, my rival Melvin, and I didn't name my Pokemon.

First Time In Soul Silver:Hal(Picked the Male)/Rival Name:Silver/Starter:Totodile
Second Time In Soul Silver:Penny(Picked the Female)/Rival Name:Silver/Starter:Chikorita
 
In SoulSilver, I named <Player>, Taylor, in memory of Gold Version. And Rival's Name is Jimmy, because that's the name I thought of and I was like, "cool, I'll go with it." In HeartGold, it's switched. Rival's name is Taylor and Player's name is Jimmy.
I don't really nickname my pokemons, except that I plan to nickname my Typhlosion, 'Phlozy. :P Hurrah for 'Phlozy! And Gyarados, Gyara.

I name my Rival Silver because its Soul Silver :P

I wasn't exactly original with the names for myself & my rival in SS. I picked to be a female (though despite my female gender I wouldn't mind being a boy either) & named myself Soul & my rival Silver -is bricked- I named my Cyndaquil Karneval (mainly from one of my fave mangas)

Rival: --- (I named him after a friend and he doesn't like sharing it.)

Typhlosion: Knuckles (Because the Cyndaquil line is based on Echidnas, haha.)

Ampharos: Pharaoh (Used to be Reeper, but he's been promoted. :P)

Skarmory: Sir Crane (Because it's based on a knight and a crane. ;))

Ursaring: Roosevelt (Best. Name. Ever.)

Kingler: Princeler (Princes get all the ladies.)

Pupitar: Behemoth (This will work much better when he evolves into Tyranitar...)

Pokemon: SCORCH (Quilava), Gouge (Beedrill), Snake (Ekans), Wool (Mareep), ACID (Shiny Bellsprout), Nibble (Ratatta)



As you can see, I named the heroes their official names. I know that the Rival's official name is technically Silver, but that doesn't really fit in with Ethan and Lyra. Plus, lots of people already call him that. As for naming patterns, I just shorten their names in HeartGold, while I name them after what they are or what they do SoulSilver. In both versions, I capitalize the name of important Pokemon, including Starters, Legendaries, and Shinies.
 
Okey dokey, I just got HeartGold from my cousin for my birthday on Wednesday, and I decided to play as the boy character this time. Ya' know, just for changes.

Me (♂): Ethan (default name)
Rival: Silver
Pokemon:
-Chikorita (♀): Sprout
-Zubat (♂): Chompy
-Pikachu (♀): Nickname yet, caught her on Pokéwalker
-Wooper (♂): Vladimir
And I have two extra slots... What do you expect, I started this yesterday...
