And my rival it's Max, i called him like that because when i was starting my game i was with my friend max bothering me and i decided to put that name to bothering him back xD
I nickname my pokemons based on other games characters like Catherine, .Hack// and Eternal Sonata.

Named my rival Thunder because of his personality and hair.
Now, for my 6 pokemon in my current team..

Samurott - Zelott (Dunno why, just came out with that name at the time)
Raticate (HM Slave) - Fatslave (Why not? ;D)
Unfezant - Vexis (Came up with the name)
Umbreon - Nevis (Came up with the name)
Flygon - Dragbaws (as in, Dragon Boss. :3)
Lucario - Rokusho (Medabots reference xP)

samurott - Callahan (aw yea for giving girls guy names and it is a kickass name)
Black kyurem - Tsallo (play on 'Sallow')
Garchomp - Czello (I love cellos and the 'cz' prefix)
Latios - Brent (love the name)
and i couldn't name genesect and zoroark.

Not sticking with this team though, will swap it all around when I get my team from black!

I named my character Brendan, just like I have in all of the other games since it's my actual name. I also kept the trend of giving my rival their default name (Hugh, in this case). I chose Snivy as my starter and nicknamed it Tarja, as that's the second half of it's Japanese name. I try to nickname all of my Pokemon aside from legendaries, but I've only recently started, so I only have my Snivy at this point.

I named my character Rene (my irl name) as weird as it is XD

I kept my Rivals default name (Hugh) since I think it fits him, and he's a really cool guy :D

As for my Pokemon Team (I play White 2):

Serperior (Ivy) - Yeah totally an original name XD.
Weezing (Gassy) - A Tribute to one of my favorite 'creatures' on youtube.
Wailmer - No nickname because he was given to me in a trade. :3
Gigalith (Adamantium) - Yet another tribute to a movie I love. (X-Men)

I still plan on getting an Axew and a Litwick on my team. Don't know what I'll nickname them yet, but that's all I've got :)

I named myself Ethan, because well that's my name. I named my rival Hugh because I was lacking ideas and profane nicknames died in...oh who am I kidding they're still kinda funny. My pokemon had no central theme, but my Samurott was named after my past water-starters, my Sawsbuck was Bambi, my female Grumpig was Ms. Piggy...pretty much the only notable nicknames.

Myself: I named myself Thomas because that's my name.

Rival: ...Newman? I don't fully know why xD I think I saw that name somewhere and thought, yeah, that's a great name for my rival in the new Pokemon game!

Pokemon: I don't usually give Pokemon nicknames because I like the original names better :p when I do give nicknames though they're usually something that will have some kind of affiliation with what the Pokemon looks like :P i.e Ghost for Dusknoir, etc. Also maybe just aaaaa or something like that if I'm getting Pokemon I'll hopefully never use.

Lucario: Aura with a star symbol behind it - It's an aura user and it is my star Pokemon.
Hydreigon: Hydra - Well, a hydra has many heads, and so does Hydreigon.
Darmanitan: Darmi - Couldn't find a better name for it lol.
Crobat: Sora - Japanese for 'sky'.
Eelektross: Elexa - I just liked the sound of that name, plus I had not many name ideas as well.

Yeah, very original names there huh? Haha. There were just 5 characters for renaming in the Japanese version; not much to fit in there.

My team is named after different Greek names, since I wanted to go with a theme for their nicknames. My team is-

The names themselves don't make much sense, but they kind of fit in their own way. I enjoy coming up with different themed nicknames, haha.
