1st Gen What do you think is the ultimate Gen1 team?

Blastiose - Best water in the game plus has high defence
Dragonite - All the reasons above me ^
Rapidash - Quick and strong fire
Zapdos - As many have said best flying and electric in the games
Exeggutor - Good Special stat and Health
Chansey - Best tank in Gen I plus great moves

P.S. People who say Gyrados is good water, your wrong. Gyrados has a low special stat and high attack. Also its water moves aren't good learning one at level 41
 
Gyaridos is a terrible choice, because it's flying/water combo makes it really weak against electrics(X4 damage).
 
Starmie:
Recover, Thunder Wave, Psychic, Surf/Hydro Pump

Dragonite:
Blizzard/Ice Beam, Hyper Beam, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave/Body Slam

Snorlax:
Either Body Slam, Hyper Beam, Earthquake/Surf, Self Destruct or
Amnesia, Blizzard/Ice Beam, Body Slam, Rest

Rhydon:
Rock Slide, Substitute, Body Slam, Earthquake

Chansey:
Softboiled, Ice Beam/Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave

If legendaries are allowed then

Mewtwo:
Psychic, Thunder Wave, Substitute, Recover/Rest

If not, either Alakazam:
Psychic, Thunder Wave, Recover, Seismic Toss

Or Exeggutor:
Psychic, Sleep Powder, Explosion, Mega Drain
 
Mewtwo is NOT allowed. But the others are.
I'm seeing a bit of exeggutors, care to explain why it's a good choice?
 
Alakazam - Best special, great speed, powerful psychic + recover
Golem - Awesome defense, can put a dent in things with earthquake before exploding
Slowbro - Amnesia + sweep, pretty good defense (and my favorite)
Zapdos - Mixed sweeper, great speed and special
Snorlax - STAB Self-Destruct, good attack and hit points, good move pool
Exeggutor - Great typing, can sleep/stun, good special, can take a hit, can explode

-CHARIZARD'S.. STUPID SPEED + NICE SPECIAL + CAN LEARN DIG
-BLASTOISE'S DEFENSE + SPECIAL + ATTACK
-PIKACHU -- WAIT, not pikachu, he kinda sucks... MEWTWO. RIDICULOUS SPECIAL + SPEED
-LAPRAS thunderbolt + surf/hydro pump + ice beam/blizzard + psychic = EPIC WIN FOREVER WITH HIS SPECIAL
-SNORLAX -- ATTACK UP THE ARSE, HP OF SIMILAR MEASURES, AND CAN LEARN ALMOST EVERYTHING GOOD
 
I don't know if this would be the ultimate team, but I would say Starmie, Alakazam, Jolteon, Tauros, Dragonite and Persian. All of these pokemon could be used in many situations to help strengthen your team. Also a Persian with Slash ≥ All other things
 
1. Snorlax --good attack and Def
2. Starmie -- very fast, good movepool
3. Jolteon -- faster (:
4. Dugtrio -- can take many damage
5. Alakazam -- very good movepool
6. Dragonite-- one of the best dragons

Gengar (or Haunter, in my case)

That team has never failed me. :]
 
Venusaur, Exeggutor, Charizard, Cloyster, Dragonite, Jolteon
Leech Seed, Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap Wrap (or Fire Spin and Clamp of course), and occasionally use Jolteon to Pin Missile those annoying psychic types to death. Oh, and an occassional Sleep Powder or Stun Spore here and there. Toxic might work as well. Maybe change out one of the Wrappers for Victrebell - even worse typings in exchange for even more status fun.

Yeah, this team probably wouldn't really work, but you have to admit: There is no strategy that could possibly be more fun than LS+status+Wrap.
