What do you think the D/P Pokemon's English names will be? And what do you think of the ones we already know, such as Lucario and Manaphy? Post your ideas here.

    Here are my ideas:

    Tamanta - Mantara
    Rioru - Leora
    Donkarasu - Murkron
    Ramupurado - Rampard
    Cherimu - Cheribelle
    Rozureido - Roseraid

Those sound good. Why Murkron? I think that Perap was so much better than Chatot, though! Plus, I think Rukario is better than Lucario, because for a fighting-typem it sounds harder, don't you agree?

Actually, I think the name Lucario is okay, but I don't really like the name Chatot. The name Perap was better, although that was actually the Japanese name. I don't know what's wrong with the name Murkron, it sounds okay to me. I'm completely unsure about ideas for English names for the starters, as I don't know or can't find any good idea for their English names. Someone thought that Naetle's English name would be Seedling, but it doesn't sound like a Pokemon name and it is a word used in real life. I don't think the name Elekible should be changed when it reaches the US, it sounds perfect to me. But, ah, here are some more English name ideas:

    Mitsuhoney - Honeybea
    Leafia - Leafieon
    Glacia - Glacieon
    Doomiraa - Domirror
    Jibacoil - Magnecoil
    Mojanbo - Tangelaro

the eeveelutions won't be spelt with an e near the end.

    My Ideas:
    Leafia - Leafion
    Glacia - Glacion
Muumaji - Mydreavus (I don't know why I think that)

but I am so confident that Darkrai will still be Darkrai.

as for me.. i'd say the following:

    Toridepusu: Trideps
    Ramparudo: Rampard (as above)
    Parukia: Palkia
    Diaruga: Dialga
    Fione: Phione
    Cherimm: Cheribell (same as above)
Buizeru: Buoysel (as everyone else thinks)
    Erekiburu: Elekible
    Booburn: Magburn
    Sucorupi: Scorpi
    Rozureido: Roserade (as above)
    Beequeen: ....Beequeen? lol
    Togekiss: Togekiss
    Leafia: Leafeon
    Glacia: Glaceon
PorygonZ: PorygonX or PorygonZ (i dunno why i thought of X for but i figured it sounded cool:P
    i dunno about any more..

WolfLink: Actually, every other Eevee evolution had an ''e'' after their ''element names''.
    And Mydreavus sounds quite good.

RaikouSpecialLover: Hey, those were pretty nice names. I really liked the names Turtsap and Monkeat! I also really liked the names Dusgeist, Starly, Chiron, Donkrow, Trisla and Tunchill. However, some of the other names sounded a bit too simple, and were mainly just two words strung together with just a light spelling change. At least it was far better than the stupid English names for the R/S Pokemon the lamers thought of before the real ones were officially released such as Minare, Hopplus, Goatsevil (yuck!), Forestroy (double yuck! Sounds more like an evolution of Forretress than the English name for Sceptile!) and Rooferno (yech!). Only one of their names I liked, and that was Ballrus!

I think Giradina will be the same in America as it was in Japan. It doesn't seem too Japanese, and it sure is a good name. And, oh yes, if you want, you can also post your ideas for the English names of the characters in D/P too! All I know and believe is that the D/P girl's surname will not be ''Berlitz'', because it has been officially confirmed that the new Professor's surname is ''Rowan'', and even if you pick the girl, it's the same thing, because we don't know any of the surnames of the main heroes or heroines, except for Ash Ketchum, but face it, Ash is an anime character, and we're talking about Diamond and Pearl.

Also, one more thing.......why do some people, like the ones in SerebiiForums call the D/P girl ''The Lady''? As we all know, the D/P girl is too young to be considered a lady, as she must be around 10 or 11 years old. The stupid ideas these characters get.....Sheesh....

The names that make sense in English may as well be romanised, I think (although Magnemite was never called 'Coil'). R/S girl was May, but what was the name of the G/S/C girl? There may be a theme...

he means the crystal girl and i think her name is actually Crystal

just a quick question why these cause i dont really like them

    diarugia=dalgia
    parukia=palkia

Those are the Romanizations of the Japanese names, aka how we'd say them.

I think the two new Eeveelutions should be called Folieon and Blizzareon, but I'm a terrible name maker and that's all I could come up with. xD

Folieon as in foliage, one would assume...
Are there any other Japanese speakers here who can confirm my suspicion that Twinleaf is a direct-ish translation of Futaba?
Also, anyone think that in keeping with 'May', the girl could be called 'June'?

Or and then the next next gen girl could be called Summer, and then Autumn, and so on...
Yes, Folieon as in foliage. That has everything to do with plants and grass. ^^
I think Blizzareon is a bit better, it reminds me of Final Fantasy for some reason, and Glaceon is just so...uh...normal, and predictable. It's like 'Ho hum, look at Glaceon come down the road,' in opposition to 'Everybody make way for Blizzareon, the one and mighty!' It just sounds more energetic. I'm very big on the flow of words. When words sound clunky, I never use them. They have to floooow. ^_^ People sometimes consider that a fault xD

It's so normal though...xD And wasn't that Elite Four person named Glacia? D=

Yeah, I guess. Plus, the water-type Eeveelution was called Vaporeon, also four syllables, and water and ice are very close

I wish they'd keep the name Hikari. It's so very cute.

    Maybe Winter?

June would be nice, but Hikari always seems more like a Winter...

What about the boy? Winter and Fall. LOL.
