What exactly IS a Pokemon Master?

You know, this Anime has had nearly 600 episodes, and the show never really explained what a Pokemon Master is, or what the requirements are for becoming one. I figured that since the plot of the show is centered around Ash trying to become one, shouldn't we know what one is?

Your thoughts?

IMO, a Pokemon Master is not only someone who trains a certain set or else all their Pokemon to become number 1, but also someone who loves each Pokemon as if they were family (I know, I know, they're digital creatures and they'll never be real, but... T_T). They don't use them as slaves (except for the occasional HM Slaves) nor as WMD. They are as human as we are, except more powerful and most likely unable to speak our language.

But yeah. I think the show's view of it is that a Pokemon Master catches ALL the Pokemon, but as we all know, Ash is VERY far from doing so. Gary probably already has every single Pokemon from all the seasons up to Sinnoh, minus the legendaries, of course.

Using that logic, Crys from Pokemon Special would count as a Generation II Pokemon Master, right?

Heh....

I think I can agree with that...With the added fact that she is an assistant to Professor Oak, she learns to understand cutting-edge discoveries in the Pokemon World.

OMG, Crys is this close to being a Pokemon Master.(In theory) If she studied Battle & Cooperation skills for a couple of years, She could be it.

=P

Heh...in theory yes...But I doubt the rest of the Game-Anime Pokemon fandom would agree with that...I doubt that some of them know about Crys =/ (No offense)

Also in theory, Ruby can be a "Pokemon Master" due to his great understanding of Battling and Contests. =P

But I already outlined what I think a Pokemon Master is. :3

True. When Ruby is in Anger!mode, the only person who could beat him is Red,(He is a master by R/G/B Saga standards) but Red would still have a very tough time, no doubt.

In the game, a Pokémon Master to me would be someone who has beaten the Pokémon League more than once. In the animé, it really hasn't been brought up but I would guess a one of the elite trainers of the world not just in your country or whatever.
