You need to be pretty stupid not to understand your point, though it's kinda misleading, because Ash's Pikachu isn't the only one in the Pokemon world. But since you obviously refer to the main Pikachu, he's a he. At least Mewtwo thinks so in Movie 1 and main characters usually are male. Pikachu's also stubbornly loyal, which I think is a sign of a strong man's heart. (Don't take this personally girls! =))

In the old episodes I always thought Pikachu was a girl, but reciently there's been a lot of evidence against it. For reasons stated above, I have to agree that Ash's Pikachu is a boy.

Pikachu is definitely a boy to me. If it were a girl, wouldn't the DP female sprites look identical to the anime Pikachu instead of having that tail?
