What generation was the best and why?

    What is your opinion?

    Personally for me its Gen 2 (G/S/C), it completely revolutionized the pokemon gaming world. I love the 1st Gen too though, not as much as johto and all its glory.

    In my opinion I was very let down by Gen 3/4, in afew ways it damaged pokemon for me, the lack of team rocket, and in Gen 4 the sheer poor creativity gone into the designing of the pokemon themselves, that game ruined magmar, magneton and afew other whilst also introducing new strange and hideous creations. But I do love the double battling and natures, etc.

    In all though I can't express my love for Gen 1 and 2, but can't express my disappointment for Gen 3 and 4.

    I'm an old skool pokefreak though ;)

    Improved graphics, powerful Pokemon, new features and great move animations.
     
    I'm in love with Kanto. I've tried playing other games, and they were good, but I always go back to the 1st Gen..
     
    Yeah man, you gotta love Kanto, it did put Pokemon on the radar I guess, It always made me sad on Gold and Silver when I went back to Kanto 3 years on from the story and seeing it so plain and rubbish, that for me was a downfall on them games. I just think Gen 3 and 4 have just modified and kept the pokemon gaming series up to date, nothing on what Gen 1 or 2 did for their time though.
