Team Sub-reliant!
I had the luck to catch a Modest Heatran on my Platinum as well as hatching a shiny Mild Bagon (no kidding!). I began breeding the rest of the team because my luck was unbelievably good (still having trouble with Adamant Thick Fat Snorlax; stupid immunity!). This team is going to be aimed at Wifi, so hidden powers are pretty much a big no. The team uses bulkyDDGyara to take a few pokes to start the match in my favour as well as Subtran and bulky Metagross to sweep late game, especially after all potential metagross counters are gone and I can spam MM attack boosts. Salamence is also a real bomb. Honestly, Starmie is too weak, but it does do its job with relative ease anyway. Make any changes you believe would help, however I may not make all the changes. Also, posting to point out spelling/grammar mistakes is helpful, because I like to keep my threads tidy. Rate it please, rather than letting it slip away untouched.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EV: 112 HP/252 Atk/144 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
Bulkygyara was used previously as a very successful lead. Faster leads set up SR and I get a DD or I taunt slower leads and they switch having failed to set up SR. Many slower pokemon have tried to Twave me which ends up being a free Taunt. I play this pretty aggresively so it doesn't really last too long, just sets up and takes out a couple of pokemon, although I have managed to secure the sweep of whole teams occasionly when I play it smart. The only set up pokemon on the team (apart from Metagross' MM boosts) so it's importance is major and it really helps secur a win after I play this well. Stone Edge was selected as my secondary move to help with my slight Gyarados problem (Metagross can't switch into EQ, Starmie is rather frail). This is also my main Scizor/Luke check so I suppose I should be saving this til late game but Heatran/Salamence can usually dea with them anyway so w/e. Intimidate is also good for late game checks to physical sweepers. I'm really happy with how its doing so far so maybe I can keep it as the lead.

Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Natural Cure
EV: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Trick/Grass Knot
A very handy nape, Gyara and mence check. It can KO the latter two even after a DD and counters the former very nicely. The moves provide great coverage when used in conjunction with each other. Trick is also a handy option for ruining a Blissey's efforts to stall me. I am however, considering Grass Knot for my ever growing problems with bulky grounds. Natural Cure does provide my best option as a status absorber, but it isn't always intelligent to switch in to absorb status and then switch out again. The lackof power can sometimes be disconcerting, especially with maxed Special Attack and a modest nature. To be honest, Hydro Pump would be altogether a greater move because of the extra power it grants, but the accuracy can be offputting and it doesn't really get any extra kills against pokemon that would give the team trouble.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EV: 180 HP/196 SAtk/132 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Substitute
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power/Dragon Pulse
- Toxic/Will-o-wisp
I have seen Subtran used many times before and I am convinced that it really does make huge differences to the overall outcome of nearly all my battles. This doesn't need hidden power anyway, so it is what fits my capabilities best. I have a great Modest Heatran with IVs that shine. This works so differently to other Heatrans in that it Subs on something that would switch and then toxic the opponent's Heatran counter. It also scouts pretty nicely for Scizor sets (testing for Superpower/BB) and switches or attacks accordingly. The EVs give it a optimal leftovers, the speed allows me to outspeed max Adamant Scizor and the rest were dumped into SAtk for maximum powah! I may consider Will-o-wisp for TTar and Snorlax switchins, who can give the team trouble if they are well played. Dragon Pulse is also being considered for Latias switchins, but the drop that Earth Power may grant is nearly too good to pass up (especially how Subtran has considerably less power than Scarftran, LOtran or Specstran) as well as the coverage against Heatran switching in predicting scarf Fire Blast. Leftovers gives this the stalling power it needs, so I can stall out Blissey, etc.
---
Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EV: 84 Atk/216 SAtk/208 Spe
Nature: Mild
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
- Outrage
New Mixmence has a few things that old mixmence lacks and is generally a better wall breaker in my opinion. I am missing the KO on TTar though, so Brick Break may be slotted in somewhere. I am a bit dubious as to any Salamence sets, because their greatest enemy is residual damage. For example, LO+Sandstrom+SR really does ruin the capabilities that this has. I do sometimes worry about my ability to beat Hippowdon with this, as this is my primary answer to bulky grounds. Swampert with Ice beam has been a problem. It's also my second answer to Scizor/Luke/Hera, after Gliscor is down. Outrage has been a great help, doing a number on many pokemon who would normally check Salamence, such as bulky waters and Blissey, but locking myself in does have it's downfalls. Salamence is the pokemon I have the smallest expectations of, as mentioned previously residual is a pain (47% just to come in and attack with SR and sandstorm active) and the Outrage lock does have its costs, but it usually does take down one or two pokemon going down, so I'm probably just being pesimistic.
---
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EV: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 SDef
Nature: Adamant
- Body Slam
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
Snorlax is needed to check important pokemon such as Latias, Gengar, Heatran and Zapdos who would otherwise be real pains. In this slot, Snorlax is better than TTar. This is much better at stall than its cousin CBLax, and that is the main purpose of this set, to stall special sweepers rather than hit them for SE straight away. I really spam prediction with this, especially as he is the only pokemon not needed for the success of the team, rather his job is making sure special sweepers are down followed by going down to a foddery death spamming paralysisi chance from Body Slam. Fire Punch is for the Scizor who switch into this for some reason and Crunch really hits Latias for a number. EQ is my only option aginst Heatran. The Body Slam paralysis chance is extremely helpful, and also gives my speed a bit of a boost. The power can sometimes be disconcerting, but it outstalls all the special sweepers anyway, a well as potentially locking Gengar, Latias and Starmie into Pursuit mindgames, however I prefer Crunch because of how much harder it hits Latias, who is an immense pain for the team.
---
Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EV: 204 HP/80 Atk/224 Def
Nature: Adamant
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Thunderpunch
- Bullet Punch
Defensive anchor on the team, this is just pure awesomeness! The bulk it has is just immense while still retaining a lot of power. Originally this would have been used as a lead with SR>>Thunderpunch but I am now very suspicious of Gyarados. The evs grant many purposes. First and formost, I'm not 2HKOed by CBTar's Crunch and DDTar with a DD using EQ never OHKOs. Salamence doesn't pose a huge problem either. EQ and Fire Blast both fail to OHKO. Gyarados switches into this all the time to Thunderpunched to the face. Nobody actually expects Bullet Punch so most DDTar outspeed and try for the 2HKO with EQ only to be thwarted by Bullet Punch after a MM. Nice late game sweeper after receiving boosts from MM. Also, Intimidate pokemon fail badly to beat this after Clear Body saves me from the attack lowering that would render this pointless.
~Conclusion
The team is VERY solid from my point of view, letting me reach ever higher on the ladder before hax kills all chances of making it to the leaderboard. Nonetheless I will get there eventually, plus I also sometimes win with major hax against me so that really proves to me how solid the team is. I have no complaints about the team, and there is no weakest link. Bulky grouds can be my worst enemy, sometimes I lose to Swampert with Ice Beam, but Gyara went in>>Gliscor, my previous lead so that isn't really a problem anymore. Rate it if you will.
