What I think about PBR.... And some questions.

I got this game so I could distract myself and endure the most pain I have ever experienced - getting my four wisdom teeth cut out of my jaw. Surgery sucks.

First of all, the game is very pretty. I love how opposing pokemon can actually be seen on the same screen, if you know what I mean. I was really excited about the character customization, till I discovered that I had to have D/P to do A THING. (I had to get a friend to pick up Diamond for me, since I lost Pearl a week after I bought it when it was released. *shame*)

I had great fun with it when I first started playing it. I used a rental pass since I couldn't make a custom pass, but that was okay with me at the time. I eventually got to rank 2 in the first coliseum. Then I realized that I couldn't change my party. That's when I realized that there was NO RENTAL SYSTEM.

My definition of rental system - Every pokemon in existence for you to rent and battle.

After playing D/P for a while, I finally got a reasonable amount of pokemon to transfer to my wii, but they are all low level, and I could barely get through the 30 open rules. What am I supposed to do? Do I have to level up in D/P to at least 30 to get anywhere?

I miss the old rental system. I can't stand that I have to have a national pokedex in D/P to do anything. Why can't I pick out my dream team like I could in the N64 days? What happens when I have friends come over who want to play multiplayer, and they don't own D/P? Is there really no full rental system? Do I REALLY have to catch them all in order to enjoy having this game? That is so lame. Thanks Nintendo, for your genius way of making me spend more money.

Am I wrong on this? I hope so, because I am fed up with this. I really want to play and enjoy this game. I know I can, but I need to know how to play this thing right.

    Advice, please?

ya they realeased D/P first so they expect you to have it first , best you can do is ask for someone to clone thier pokes ....

Clone their pokes? What do you mean?

umm just the definition of cloning , make a duplicate , it's a neat trick , do you have D/P , somone trades you there entire team (cloned version) and you could use .

Intriguing, How do I go about doing this? I don't know anyone who would be willing to take the time to trade me that many pokemon.

Is cloning a cheat or somethng?

Cloning does ruin the challenge of the game, but as for me I have nothing against the trick. Most likely to be the case, cloning would be considered just another way to cheat.

For the Level 30 Open rule, yes, you will need to level your Pokémon up. However, there is another level rule, which is Level 50 Lock or something. This locks all Pokémon to Lv. 50, regardless of what level they are really at. It certainly evens things up.

Of course there's no rental system, like with Pokémon Stadium. The idea is for you to put YOUR OWN Pokémon through trial and tribulation. Well, except for the Gateway Colosseum. They only allow Rental Passes. I think there was one other Colosseum that also allowed only Rental Passes.

Complete the game first with some strong Pokemon, breed your favourite and then get perfect IV's and EV's to get them to be very strong at level 30
