I got this game so I could distract myself and endure the most pain I have ever experienced - getting my four wisdom teeth cut out of my jaw. Surgery sucks.
First of all, the game is very pretty. I love how opposing pokemon can actually be seen on the same screen, if you know what I mean. I was really excited about the character customization, till I discovered that I had to have D/P to do A THING. (I had to get a friend to pick up Diamond for me, since I lost Pearl a week after I bought it when it was released. *shame*)
I had great fun with it when I first started playing it. I used a rental pass since I couldn't make a custom pass, but that was okay with me at the time. I eventually got to rank 2 in the first coliseum. Then I realized that I couldn't change my party. That's when I realized that there was NO RENTAL SYSTEM.
My definition of rental system - Every pokemon in existence for you to rent and battle.
After playing D/P for a while, I finally got a reasonable amount of pokemon to transfer to my wii, but they are all low level, and I could barely get through the 30 open rules. What am I supposed to do? Do I have to level up in D/P to at least 30 to get anywhere?
I miss the old rental system. I can't stand that I have to have a national pokedex in D/P to do anything. Why can't I pick out my dream team like I could in the N64 days? What happens when I have friends come over who want to play multiplayer, and they don't own D/P? Is there really no full rental system? Do I REALLY have to catch them all in order to enjoy having this game? That is so lame. Thanks Nintendo, for your genius way of making me spend more money.
Am I wrong on this? I hope so, because I am fed up with this. I really want to play and enjoy this game. I know I can, but I need to know how to play this thing right.
Advice, please?
