5th Gen What if Unova WASN'T based on New York?

Imagine that Unova was based on well, anywhere else in the world - it could be in Japan, like many of you hoped, or another place within America, orrrr anywhere else. You'd still have the same storyline as a whole, but the characters in-game would be altered to suit the design of the region. Oh, and yes, the same Pokemon would exist, but their locations within the game could change, depending on which location you want to base Unova upon.

Where would you choose to base the region on? In what way would the characters be affected? Would the locations of certain Pokemon change? Do you have an image of what the geography would look like and where each point within the story would occur? Is there anything else you think would be different if the location Unova was based on changed?

Please don't share your thoughts on how you feel about Unova being based on New York, since Toujours made a thread just for that purpose. :)

The region will be based on Paris, i think. Umm.. @ Castelia Cityyyyy Skyarrow bridge will not be available. >:|, Driftveil City, no Bridge, No marvelous bridge, no Village Bridge. Yep, the locations will be changed. Vanillite (sadly) will be replaced @ Route 10 (Rare), Pikachu (YAY!!!) will be @ Route 13 (Normally), Nope, i dont have a picture/photo, Yeah, You also find Rufflet & Vullaby @ Route 10 at PKMN B/W instead of Rufflet PKMN W and Vullaby PKMN B. Solosis & Gothia Route 16 (DON'T REMEMBER) Duosion and Gothitoria Route 9. Pluuuuuuus.. Eiffel Tower will be there instead of Cestical Tower. The region will have more cities.
EDIT: Don't think 'bout this, Unova will be worse and better

I think NYC was a great idea but this is not the thread so I will answer the questions:

Where would you choose to base the region on?
Probably in a certain part of Japan

In what way would the characters be affected?
Maybe some of the characters will be fishing more than usual

Would the locations of certain Pokemon change?
Yep, of course.....More water

Is there anything else you think would be different if the location Unova was based on changed?
Just various locations of Pokemon will be different

Where would you choose to base the region on?
I actually liked the different base for a region. We've had enough Japan-based regions, and a change was good. However, an Africa-based region would be good for these Pokemon, as a lot of them are African animals.
In what way would the characters be affected?
They wouldn't really be changed much.
Would the locations of certain Pokemon change?
A lot of the Pokemon could work well in Africa. Elephants like the Munna line and Blitzle line could be found in a Savanna area, and Sandile and other desert Pokemon could be found in an Egypt-like area.

No.

Ice-types would be much more rare, and only available on mountaintops.
