    What is Pokérus? I know it's a virus because all my Pokémon are infected with it but what really is it? Is it good/bad?
     
    It's very good. It doubles the EV points your pokemon gain from battle. Each creature you defeat gives you an amount of points. Pichu would give you 1 to Speed since he's fast but a Raichu would give you 3 in speed. EV points add up and make your pokemon stronger faster. You can get the same results if you just train a young pokemon to like 60 but pokerus makes them strong at about 30. That's how my D/P team sweeped though the gym leaders. ^^
     
    i guess it's less rare in D/P.. i had a few eggs that hatched with it (without parent pokemon being infected, or ever were).. also got quite some infected pokemon on GTS..

    i don't like the smiley you get afterwards, it looks sad..
     
    The virus extremely helped my Pokemon in battles, etc. It went away now, though, and now there's a sad face, but anyways I got the pokemon that had PokeRus from a WiFi trade.

    yea, i gave you right :P?

    anyway, the effect still is there! after the PKRS status is gone, the EVs will still be doubled.. it just won't be contagious anymore
     
    it also helped me alot also. I won alot of battles against my friends with that

    i got a guy with pokerus from a wifi trade, and when he usually gets 500 exp points, it says 2000, but no one else in my party has pokerus...
     
    How long does it usually last? I got an Eevee from someone with Pokérus on Saturday night 7 hours later, it was gone from everything except my Empoleon which I'd put in a box.

    <_<; I didn't even get to use it to my advantage because I spent those 7 hours sleeping.

    you don't get more experience when you're infected.. the extra exp is just from the fact that it was traded

    after 24 hours in your party the status is gone.. but they still get the double effort value points.. they're just not contagious anymore.. always make a few extra and put those in a box (to infect others in the future), since in a box they dont lose the status
     
    Well, it wasn't even close to 24 hours but I won't complain if they still get the boosts afterwards. Thanks for the clarification. =D
     
    To spread the virus in your team do you just have to walk around with the infected pkm or battle with it too?

    you only get it by battle.. but the infected pokemon doesnt have to battle itself, just has to be in your party.. ahoy!

    Not quite true. It'll still spread through your party if you just run around, but it'll take a LOT longer that way.
