What is so bad about bidoof? really?

I'd prefer to battle six Bidoof in a row as opposed to six Magikarp. At least they can do something. I'm sure you get a lot more experience points too. I actually don't have problem with them unless I'm looking for a certain Pokémon and they keep popping up.

I love Bibarel, and well, Bidoof too, but Bibarel more, due to it being a Beaver(while Bidoof is actually a mouse... how that works out, Iunno XD) I like how it looks, it's so innocent and cute, and a little bit fat XD Also, I find it highly useful for it's large range of STAP HM's, and I'm proud to say that it's still one of my most used Pokémon in my Platinum game, where I'm at the Pokémon League. BIBAREL FOREVER! Follow the Beaver! <3

I've never put a lot of thought into why I don't like it. All I know is it's the only pokemon from a first route that I didn't catch on my first run through a game. Rattata, pidgey, hoothoot, zigzagoon etc, caught them all. Bidoof, I did not, so it must be pretty bad if my chronic catcheritis didn't want it.

No, the real reason I don't like it is because it always breaks PokeRadar chains whatever you do. -_- It's like SUPPOSED to be there to annoy you with its ugly face.

I don't like Bidoof because it's got one of the most boring design of any Pokemon. It's the same with those first route Normal Types - they never have designs that are impressive. Just normal, bland ones.

On the other hand, Bidoof and Bibarel will feature in my upcoming Pokemon Platinum team because they offer a wide range of HM's to learn which always comes useful in any play through.

People don't like Bidoof for the same reason they hate Tentacool and Zubat: They're everywhere, they suck until you evolve them, and whenever you're looking for rare Pokemon, you end up finding millions of Bidoof, Zigzagoon, Tentacool, and Zubat.

In my opinion, the only good things about Bidoof are that they eventually become HM slaves and make Rhyperior/Electivire/Lickylicky/Probopass look so much cooler.

I just think it's the worst designed beginner rodent Pokemon. It's hideous and annoying looking. I will say though that I thought adding a water dual type to Bibarel was a good idea. That's its only good point imo.

It's utterly useless for competitive play, even in NU. Throw in the high encounter rate, and you've got one hell of an annoying Pokemon. It's good for HMs, though. But that's it.

I like how people complain about Bidoof/Bibarel being ugly, and you just mentioned 3(maybe 4, not sure what I think of Rhyperior yet) of the ugliest pokémon in the history of pokémon XD

I like Bidoof/Bibarel's simplistic design... I find that many pokémon ain't simple enough, and end up looking ugly, or artificial... I'm aware this is on purpose with some pokémon, but come on, Pokémon are basically the animals of their world, so why shouldn't they look that way?

exactly, people bash on gen 4 pokemon becuase they are too complex, but then they complain that some are too simple. there isnt really a medium when it comes to design.

but I think its pretty cool

It has awesome abilities and can learn ALOT of attack plus 6 (7 in SS/HG) HM's and it has good HP for a NU pokemon.
