Just thought I'd gather some info. Mine is the awesome RPGXP. Maybe it's just because it has alot of starter kits though. XD

gotta go wit rmxp, im usin it and bought it soo.....it is also kinda easy wit the events set up which is y im movin on the the more difficult events in my game. *wait im getting a vision, im betting the capt chooses sphere lolz*

    RMXP, or Sphere :S

I've become pretty comfortable with RMXP now. Although I like the way sphere works, even though I'm still a "noob" at it.

Time is going to tell which one will eventually become my favorite :p

RPG Maker 2003,RPG Maker XP and Gamemaker
GameMaker and RM2K3 Let you create the game how you want it
But RMXP you have to use RGSS and I don't know that so I use starter kits

    Out of your options, RMXP.

But I really like Visual Basic, its a versatile as you make it.
There's a game engine called Visual Basic? *searches google*

Woooowwww... Thanks for telling me. If I only knew a way of editing the poll...

Yes, very easy events. XD But, I'm more familliar with RPG2k3, and they changed all of the names of the events. Now I'm confused. D:

And by "the capt" do you mean Captain Arcane? Just wondering.

There's something I hate about forums. Sometimes, they call you a "noob" if you don't know something. You have to put something like "I'm sorry about sounding like a noob, but how do you do that?". But this isn't a complaining thread, so yeah...

How did you describe the three gaming engines I use? Stalker!(Just kidding :( .)

Well, out of the ones you listed, I'd say RM2K3. That is a kinda small list though... I mean, their are literally hundreds of game making programs scattered across the net, not to mention programming languages.

Out of the ones not listed, I'd say the yet-to-be-released Stencyl. (I'm a tester, so for me, it's already released. >_<)

Urk. I only know of these, so yeah... I kinda meant for game making programs for making Pokemon Games, but I guess I didn't explain it very well...

Anyways, I wish I could edit the poll. >.<

Rm2k3 and rmxp. While the scripting was obviously a great addition, the events got a bit cut off. If you are an expert, you can do with events the same things you do with scripts.
Rmvx isn't in, 'cause I, well, hate it. While it's true that scripting was greatly improved, the rest...and graphics overall...where really really poor. I mean, we past from having almost infinite, but small, tilesets (rm2k, rm2k3), to almost infinite ones, both in size and number (rmxp), just to come back not only with small tilesets, but even with a limitation (5 only). And that's true for every aspect of the graphics, if you exclude charasets. So...in my opinion, rmvx is quite an elitist rpg maker: for noobs or for scripters. IMHO.

Not quite true. True, you really can make amazing CBS' and CMS', but you can't do everything with events which you can do with scripts. I do agree with your sentiments regarding eventing being cut off in XP though. :/
