I can't vote in the poll, because I have a favorite for each generation.

1st generation: Charmander
2nd generation: Cyndaquil and Totodile
3rd: generation: Treecko
4th generation: Turtwig and Chimchar
5th generation: Tsutaaja
 
All the way for Charizard. xD
 
I vote for Charmander, though I'm kind of leaning towards Totodile as well... Tough call.
It's a same that both of them have a hard time in the early parts of the game, though. Charmander has to survive the Pewter Gym, while Totodile has to survive Sprout Tower.
 
Piplup! hes sweeeeet i like penguins soo, thats another reason!
 
Torchic is my guy in the 3rd! He's cool! Blaziken made my life! I actually love Piplup too but the one made me experience in Pokemon games is only Torchic! We'll just have to see what's it gonna look like the 5th gen starters evolution.
 
Charmander because he was my first ever Pokemon and I grew really attached to him. Following him, it'd have to be Torchic. I really enjoyed taking him around all the contests and developing him!
 
I wasn't too sure what chose choose as I like Charmander --> Charizard, Piplup --> Empoleon and Turtwig --> Torterra.
In the end I just went old school and picked Charmander --> Charizard :D
 
Hmm it was really hard to choose, but I choose Treeco-Skeptile.
My Skeptile was really tough and I remember him fighting real well for me and helping me beat the Leaque countless amounts of time. x3

If I was to choose with my normal which-is-cuter routine, then I would have never been able to choose. x3 Sooo many cute ones.
 
TORCHIC!!! It's my favorite Pokemon ever alongside Ralts!!!

Typhlosion is the most badass of them all.

my favorite out of each generation would be:

1 - Blastoise
2 - Typhlosion (though i do like bayleef, not meganium)
3 - All awesome
4 - Empoleon
5 - Tsutaja (so far)
 
i always loved charmander
