on a 4-point scale, my GPA is somewhere between 2.7-3.5, but on the sclae that puts weight on how difficult the class is, my GPA is 6.3 out of 8.0, My class rank last year was 66 out of 610, so I'm in fairly good shape. Ths year with all the AP classes I'm taking and a lot of the people who were ranked higher than me gone (moved to a different school or graduating in december), I'll have a good shot at the top 10%

Oh yeah...Asians parents take grades personally. Take it from an Asian kid that's made 3.4 average twice in 3rd grade. XD
As for right now, I dunno yet since I didn't get any report card yet but last years average for me was a 92.5...rounded to the nearest whole number it would be 93.....uhh yeah. XD So (I'm pretty sure 4 is a 90...right?). It it is I have a 4.3 average.
 
it's not as simple as an A being a 4.0... here, 97-100 is worth 18 points, 94-96 is worth 17, 90-93 is worth 16, 87-89 worth 15, etc... that's for the IB classes. then for AP, 97-100 is worth 15 points, and the scale goes down from there; for regulars classes a 97-100 is worth 12 points. if you make below a 70 for any class you get no points.

I don't know the exact equation that gives you your GPA from those numbers but you add them all up and divide by something. o_o; so like, say you made 97+ in all regulars classes... you would have a 4.0. make 97+ in all AP classes, you'd have a 5.0. make 97+ in the IB classes and have a 6.0 (which is nearly impossible because until 11th grade, some IB classes only have a full potential of 5.5). it's confusing!! ;_;
 
Mine's 4.0. I have to get good grades. XD

My school doesn't go any higher than 4.0.
 
Mine's 3.8 or 4.0, not sure which one. 4.0 is the best you can get at my school.
 
Well last time i knew it was 3.9
If i tried i guess could have been higher but i did not push it realy.
