Technically my "starting region" should be Kanto as my first game was Leaf Green, I personally think of "starting region" as Alola, and here's an explanation. First off, I just did not like Leaf Green/the games, solely because I had no idea what was happening, even when I had a playthrough guide, the only things I liked were a little plant dino (Bulbasaur), funny little ground hedgehog thing (Sandshrew) and how cool Sabrina looked. However, I was a fan of the anime having religiously watched Indigo League and naturally was interested when I heard there was going to be a new season (Sun & Moon) with the new region (Alola). I was a bit reluctant but ended up loving it (I did NOT love how Ash looked) and regaining my interest in Pokemon
