I'm right now on Silver I'm working on with my team to beat Morty. Here it is so far.
Wooper - lvl 16: Water Gun, Tail Whip, Surf, Slam.
Togepi - lvl 20: Attract, Sweet Kiss, Metronome, Swift.
Pidgeotto - lvl 23: WhirlWind, Quick Attack, Gust, Mud-Slap.
Sudowoodo - lvl 23: Rock Throw, Mimic, Flail, Low Kick.
Quilava - lvl 23: Quick Attack, Fury Cutter, SmokeScreen, Ember.
Weepinbell - lvl 23: Vine Whip, Sweet Scent, Sleep Powder, Cut.

Do you think I'm missing something to beat Morty? Or you think its a good team to beat Morty.

I'm SURE I can win, so you should be able as well.
 
I'm trying to have a mono Water type run and i got 7 badges so far, in crystal that is... here's my team:
Lv45 Feraligatr
Lv45 Politoed
Lv45 Slowbro
Lv45 Tentacruel
Lv45 Lanturn
Lv45 Quagsire

Edit: I used VBA to play this run due to my Crystal Cartrage(SP?) not saving anymore and I evolved Poliwhirl with kings rock into Politoed by using a silver version rom in Project64 with Stadium 2

On Gold I had a Feraligatr and some legendarys, that's all I remember.

Crystal team: my team of Pokemon in party at the moment. (gets GBC)
Megainum. (nickname, ?????????. lol) male, lv.75 (on my previous Crystal version it was lv.100 before it got lost.)
Eevee. female, lv.20
Suincune. lv.57
Lugia. lv.60
Ditto. lv.22 (Used it to breed the elusive Chansey)

Heres for my gold team so far I just beat Clair the 8th Gym leader and now i need to beat the dragon user cave, to get the final badge.

Eevee - lvl 26 Male: Tackle, Sleep Talk, Quick Attack, Swagger.
Growlithe - lvl 26 Male: Bite, Roar, Ember, Take Down.
Graveler - lvl 28 Male: Rollout, HeadButt, Strength, DynamicPunch.
Noctowl - lvl 33 Male: Hypnosis, Take Down, Flash, Fly.
Hypno - lvl 36 Male: HeadButt, Hypnosis, Shadow Ball, Confusion.
Feraligatr - lvl 39 Male: Surf, Iron Tail, Cut, WhirlPool.
 
I still remember my first gold team (more or less) when I was in the ship.

It was a lot of years ago so the only certain lvs are the Typhlosion and Pidgeot ones. The another ones i have an idea 'cause I had them almost in the same level. That Dragonair has got history, it was the most difficult thing I've ever done in pokémon games. I was about 8 hours to have coins enough to buy it. Started just with 50 coins the first time i arrived in Goldenrod. If it was now, I wouldn't have patience...

Now, I'm passing the game for the 1000th time and I'm with 13 badges and my team is exactly:

Umbreon - 74
Dragonite - 56
Scyter - 41
Meganium - 51
Lapras - 41
Espeon - 56

My first red team, I don't remember but now I have 3 badges and my team is:

Mew - 36
Blastoise - 37
Jolteon - 25
Oddish - 13 (just to use cut)

My team in Yellow:

I've got a fun one. I go through my older games on a semi regular basis, and I just went the whole way through Crystal with:

Feraligatr lv 60
Skarmory lv 60
Beedrill lv 60
Vileplume lv 60

That's it. That's as high as the levels got going the whole way through the game, and the other two pokemon on my team at any given point were my "HM slaves". Oh, and the Beedrill definitely pulled its weight, by the way. Took out the Gyarados and Exeggutor on Blue's team at the end.

it was a good side the pokemon with * on i used to beat red( ash)
infact it helped me to come 21st in a compation back in 2002
