What rival would you like next for Ash?

Lets rethink what we've had so far as rivals for Ash.
I mean, main rivals not throw a way rivals that come and go.

-Guy makes fun of Ash {Gary}
-Guy who is the exact oppisot of Ash {Paul}
-Guy who idols every thing his rival does {Barry}

What do you want next as a rival for Ash?
I'd like a girl

Another Paul, Barry and Gary would be corny and would seem like a carbon copy, like the several other region rival's Ash has had through out the seasons, something fresh would be nice, like a nerdy guy or a flamboyant one, there's so many different personalities out there Nintendo needs to get some more variety.

A girl!? As a rival for Ash?!
Preposterous! Main girls in Pokemon are only good for contests, because every girl that travels with Ash wants to be a coordinator :cer_blankstare: Save for Misty, because back then contests didn't exist and she's a Gym leader.

But a female rival would be awesome, but I doubt it'll be happening any time soon. We can only hope that when he hits Isshu, that his next love interest tag along won't be a contest nut, but I doubt that too D: appeasing the masses or not, not every girl likes girly things they could have a bit more variety, like the girl could be a Breeder or something. . .

... No seriously. We need a female rival bad. Heck, I think if the B/W girl had an attitude, she'd be the perfect rival instead of travel partner.

I wouldn't mind a female rival :D Someone to really get on ashes nerves...
But then again I would really like paul to travel to the same new region...!

He can have more then one rival in the same region anyways... barry, paul, nando, conway etc... =P

ShadowYashi's right, using a girl would be one of the only ways they could bring in a new rival without the whole thing getting stale too quickly.

It would be a nice change if Ash got a female rival. The males starting to get a bit boring tbh ;/

OOoh I like the idea of having the fifth generation girl be Ash rival.
That way, we get to keep Dawn and still give the newbie girl attention.
Hmm *Also likes the idea of Paul replacing Brock* That'd be an intresting group, as long as Paul kept his attitude. Ash would be the one to keep Paul cool if it kept coming up on people. Than Ash and Paul could have a friendly group rivalry.
