    I'm buying Diamond or Pearl today. What should I pick as my starter?
     
    It's really up to you.
    But i like choosing Chimchar because its a easy all round
    Example

    1st gym - Mach Punch
    2nd Gym - Flame Wheel Or Ember
    3rd Gym - Mach Punch
    4th Gym - A Bit Stuck but use other pokes
    5th Gym - Flame Wheel
    6th gym - Mach Punch
    7th gym - Flame Wheel
    8th gym - Close Combat

    It doesn't matter. Any work for the game so just pick the cutest one and go.
