    Does anyone really use this?

I went on there yesterday to look for a male cherubi since I have a female one. The people who had them up for trade wanted dialgia, palkia, ho-oh (which I just looked up and is apparently a legendary).... ?!? I didn't think cherubi was THAT rare. I can't seem to find any realistic trades on there.

Also, I am unable to search for pokemon that aren't in my pokedex... ?

there is nothing wrong with the GTS, stupid people put up a Pokemon that is common just for a legendary which they know that is not fair and most likely there not going to get the Pokemon they want

ya i was looking for combee and here are the trade's i seen:
lv1 male combee for lv100 cresslia
lv1 female combee for lv80 palkia
    lv8 male combee for dialga
lv1 male combee for lv100 chimecho
the most stubid offer was a lv 30 gible for magicarb that was good

    Lol. XD

I've done a few stupid trades, I have put up a male Cherubi for a Dialga, and I end up getting a level 80 legit Shiny one. 0-0

You can't request Pokémon you haven't seen.

The GTS is full of people who want something good for a ridiculous offer.
    It's better
to use the standard trading system IMO, you get the chance to know the person before the trade and you can also take a look at the whole stats of a Pokémon before the trade to make sure it isn't hacked.

I've only used the GTS once, it went fine, but I'm always a bit sceptical.
Normal trades always worked fine for me so I'm most likely going to stick to those.

That was the funniest part of the post.

There's nothing wrong with the GTS. Some of those people are probably just trying to clone their Pokemon, and making ridiculous offers to keep them from being traded. Others are probably from hackers & little kids (sadly).

Of course you can't search for Pokemon not in your Pokedex. After all, what sense would it be to be able to get all the Legendaries before the second gym?

Anyway...we already have a trade for discussing the GTS (quite a few, actually), but while this one is up...Just make an offer and you'll get your Cherubi.

I got my Cherubi by offering an Eevee for it, you're going to have better luck putting up a Pokemon to get one back... a lot of the Japanese people are very nice. I only use the GTS every once in a while, but there isn't a thing wrong with it... I saw people with Bidoof wanting legendaries, so yeah people are just stupid.

you just have to play your cards right, and get lucky by finding a deal you're comfortable doing

hear hear.. just put a pokemon you think is fair up for trade, do not search for it.. i dont know why people post the ridiculous offers, perhaps for cloning, perhaps for being eight years old, perhaps in the hope someone will hack them one.. i dont know.
also what shadowtails said; a lot of japanese are really nice :)!

Yeah I got a legit Shiny lugia for a regular hacked lugia (P.S the shiny was japanese so Yeah japanese people are nice)
