4th Gen What was you starter and why?

Here you post why you chose you starter.Here is an example:
Mine starter was Turtwig and I chose it because fire is like an attack type water is a defense type and grass is a att/def type like a grass type defense move is synthesis and an attack move is razor leaf and frenzy plant.

chimchar becase it was going to be the most use in the first half of the game compared to the others

at first i picked chimchar couse he looked cool, but i didn't like him in battle so i started again and picked turtwig, best choice i ever made in a pokemon game that little guy is great

Yeah you don't choose a pokemon because of it's looks.

I chose Turtwig because he is very good in the beggining and his final evolution, Torterra, is awsome cause it adds resistance to fire. I also like earthquake on a grass type because it can counter many of grass weaknesess.
