I think my ultimate goal for a team would have to be this:

    Torterra
    Arcanine
    Magnezone
    Erlade
    Dragonite
    Dusknoir

Of course in the mean time, I would have to have a Pokemon that can surf and fly. But this is going to be the team I use to battle with.

I have no clue, I have to really look at all Pokemon's abilites and all these new moves and what they do in-game. Seribii's a good place to get the moves, but I have to do in-game research.

As for me, I train Pokemon as I go and when I want to train them. The Pokemon I know for a fact I'm going to be training in Diamond are:
    - Empoleon
    - Rampardos
    - Bronzong

    And in Pearl:
    - Infernape
    - Luxray
    - Gastrodon
    - Garchomp

I'm also wanting to train Lucario, Drapion, Magnezone, and Magmortar. I can't wait until Sunday!

Infernape ** Emo Monkey (anyone who's a fan of Littlekuriboh knows where this comes from. =P) @ Life Orb
    Lonely nature
    Ability: Blaze
EVs: Max speed, and rest in Attack and Sp.Attack, obviously. or MAX ATK

    - Flamethrower/Flare Blitz
    - Grass Rope ---> EQ/Thunder Punch
    - In Fight
    - Stone Edge

    ^ Pure love. <3

    Ambipom @ Choice Band
    Jolly nature
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP

    - Double Attack
    - Somersault/Brick Break
    - Shadow Claw/Payback
    - Fake Out/Pursuit/Beat Up

I simply love monkey Pokémon. ^^

    Yanmega @ Lum Berry
    Timid nature
    Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: Alot of Speed, probably max Sp.Atk and rest in HP

    - Air Slash
    - Shadow Ball/Giga Drain
    - Substitute/Protect
    - Bug Buzz

Does cool stuff with its sexy Sp.Attack stat and Speed Boost. <3

Uxie @ Something (damn item clauses that are everywhere these days. <.<)
    Bold nature
    Ability: Levitate
EVs: Alot of HP and Defense, some in Speed
    - Psychic/Light Screen/Stealth Rock
    - Reflest
    - Thunder Wave
    - Rest

I've loved this thing ever since I first saw it. Don't know if this is a good moveset for it, though.

    Miltank @ Leftovers
    Impish nature
Ability: Scrappy (can hit Ghost Types with normal/fighting moves)
EVs: Max HP, alot of Defense and some Sp.Defense

    - Seismic Toss
    - Thunder Wave
    - Milk Drink
    - Heal Bell

Yes, I know Blissey is superior to Miltank in most ways, but Miltank is cooler. <3 Oh yeah?... not anymore. ;)

    Drapion @ Black Sludge
    Adamant nature
    Ability: Snipe
EVs: Alot of Attack, rest in Defense and Speed

    - Knock Off/Night Slash
    - Cross Poison/Whirlwind
    - Ice Fang
    - Earthquake

that's just some options for you to consider. from just pure speculation, infernape with grass rope will not be as promising as it seems. GR takes the user's weight in account as well... besides, most of your heavy weight competitors are going to get raeped by In Fight. also, flare blitz for making it a full physical sweeper if you decide to go with Thunder Punch/Earthquake. besides, you gave it life orb, so you can't be THAT concerned about its HP.

Brick Break on ambipom is more promising than somersault/u-turn.

Payback/Shadow Claw are somewhat even, but because of Technician, Payback gets STAB, which makes it go from 50 base power to 75 power. also, if you manage to get hit first, that base 75 power is doubled. i'd suggest a DARK type move over a GHOST on a pure Normal type poke.

Bug Buzz is a MUST on yanmega.

miltank + scrappy = win, esp if you're running it with Seismic Toss.

Cross Poison, sadly enough, is not going to be as promising as we'd hope. it gets a beautiful STAB and w/ Snipe, you can only hope it'll be effective, but it just doesn't cover enough types. whirlwind will take care of steelix/bronzong/skarmory/electrolevitate magnezone/etc.
