I would like to see more pokemon that change their types when they evolve and i would also like to see more type mixing. Empoleoins steel-water typing is great, also snovers grass-ice set-up. Also, more types. Use your imagination. Keep it fresh. I've been training since red-blue. I need new types is all.

This fits better in Pokémon General in my opinion.

    Alright, thanks i guess. kool!

I stongly disagree. More types would only make the game even more complicated. Not only that, but most ideas that jhave been floatign around are bland and wouldn't really make the game better. Pokemon already has enough imagination (besides the hideous new designs) and I don't really see the point of making the game that much more complicated.

If anything, I'd like a few new pokemon that would put some defense back into the OU metagame, something that would counter mixed attackers with ease. I'm tired of all of the offense >:0

Two words: "three dimensions." The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Metroid Prime mastered it; no doubt the series needs to upgrade from its overused two-dimensional style!

    I introduce Pokemon XD ;)

I don't really think the DS would do great with those kind of graphics, I think the console versions really can only do that well since there's so much detail in each pokemon. I wish it could happen, I just doubt it's possible.

I'd like more story in-game. Almost every game has the exact same story repeating. Maybe more big-time characters that play better roles. And also, the game's too short D: I want more story D:

Well, the thing is, XD wasn't a true Pokemon game. Only the Shadow Lugia distinguished the game from others...

Also, I introduce unto you the pinnacles of the DS's capabilities for 3D: Final Fantasy III and IV for the DS. IV hasn't come out yet, but if Pokemon could use the same concept of 3D chibis, I think the series would get its ultimate upgrade.

Point taken and noted. 3D on handhelds at this time, not a good idea.

I'd like to be able to control the pokemon more in battle. Like instead of commanding them to use an attack and watching them do it, I'd like to jump with the control pad and press x to use the attack. Sorta like Super Smash Bros. style fighting? But I guess it'd just make pokemon like any old fighting game and have it rely on reflexes rather than skill and strategy. It wouldn't be good for competetive battling, but wouldn't it be fun to play the storyline that way? I think so.

I would like to actually chose what i want to do, in every game they give you the option of joining the bad guys but they fix it soo you relly can't. and maybe an evil legendary darkrai came close but he's more neutral than anything.

This wouldn't works for the normal franchise but I think Mystery Dungeon should have been done this way.

As others before me have said: more plot. A real plot, not "random ten-year old gets a pokémon, beats the evil team and becomes world pokémon champion". D= I mean, an actual involving story like in conventional RPGs. Characters who get more depth than a few clichéd lines would be nice. A main protagonist with a vocabulary larger than 'yes' and 'no' would be nice. An evil team with a proper agenda would be nice. For once, just for once, not having stuff in the game restricted to visitors of Nintendo events would be VERY nice.

    Just...less flash; more content. :<

I'd also like some actual difficulty in the game. You know, an AI that doesn't do completely random stuff every second turn and a point in the game where you can't just scuttle back to the pokémon center and heal your whole team for free? It's always bugged me how there's no crisis so terrible that you couldn't trek back to the nearest city for a refill. The Battle Frontier in Emerald was a nice touch (particularly pyramid and pike), but all the trainers in there were randomly generated and that just sort of hurt the feel. Some more gauntlet-style things in an actual plot would be cool (And no: not league, I mean a gauntlet where you can't fall back on an insane amount of restorative items between each battle). As it is, the games are just too damn easy to play through. T__T

To be completely honest: I don't really want a fifth generation as in 'another 100+ new critters to chase'; just a pokémon game aimed towards a higher age group than elementary school kids, both in terms of difficulty and plotline. xP Like, maybe a few more species (species that actually have something new to bring to the game; both in design and strategy) for that newness flair, but not this mass production crap that spews out abominations like Happiny. :<

Definetly that plot needs work, but I don't think Nintendo will change the basic story. The Pokemon series has been very successful by just that story, but maybe some new ideas would help. I would personally love to see camera angle changes during battle. For example, if you just sit there in the middle of a battle for a little, the angle would change to a 3-D side view possibly? I love the angles in all the gamecube games and Pokemon Stadium. It will mix things up a little. THe same boring over the shoulder angles are getting unexciting.

I would definitely like to see the game span all five regions and the 'auxiliary' regions as well. This would take easily a hundred hours and would allow for some gyms to be level 90 or so. Someone else also had this idea, but you could pick where you start and thus would get to choose particular pokemon based on that area. Maybe different starter types for the new one, but the same fire grass water for the others. It's certainly easier to remember but for older players it get really boring.

I'd certainly like to see more abilities, more strategies in game, and more ways to overcome 'cheapo' type stuff. More legendaries would also be good, but interesting that really had a big impact on the game rather than just a token. Also, I liked the idea of not having to get everything at a nintendo event, but it should definitely be quite difficult.

Lots of sidequests also. Oh, and they have to drop the really corny names like 'Bronzor', 'Baltoy', 'Nosepass', 'Bidoof' 'Budew', 'Burmy', and such. Get more innovative. Maybe one or two extra basic critters but I think we're up to here with them (just making more from more generations appear would be more than enough I think). Moves need to stop ripping off of each other; instead of just making a water/fire/grass/dragon hyper beam maybe they could have completely new moves. Also, if your leading pokemon's level is really high you could just have an option to auto run from all low level pokemon you encounter (so you can just walk through grass). It doesn't make much sense for level 5 ratattas to be attacking your level 80 metagross.

Being able to carry everything is REALLY annoying, the item storage needs to be brought back. Also, having a million pokemon that need to be traded to evolve gets annoying too. More ways to evolve should be invented; I liked the mount coronet and moss/ice rock things. It also needs to be shown HOW to do this so not everyone has to look up walkthroughs for it.

I could see perhaps one or two new types being introduced, but it's not a big deal and this would probably be difficult. One could possibly be 'gas' or something, but I really don't know how well that would work (it's too much like ghost and poison). Some new evolutions (Rotom, Parasect, Carnivine, Claydol, Drifblim, Quagsire, Octillery, Kabutops, Omastar, Kangaskhan, Absol, Skarmory, Lunatone, Solrock to name just a bunch) or evolution trees would also be nice. I'd also like to see the new 'heavy dragon' type of this game be very different than the past ones with a new type perhaps. Some new type combinations would also be good, but this isn't really a big deal.

The 'evil teams' also need to be much less corny and much more sinister.

    Hmm... I'd like some new diverse ideas. I think having more than eight gyms, a much, much, much more difficult Elite Four, and more than one region per game would be really fantastic, but I admit there's memory capacity to consider. ;_;

Yeah, I have diamond on emulator, and I was really pleased that the Elite 4 wasn't a total piece of cake. It'd be better if harder. EV trained, even.

I want those stupid powerhouses like T-tar and Rampardos to be put away. They annoy me to no end.

If they do release more monsters, I want some creative ones. Stop churning out a three-stage bug line, two oppisite legends, a two/three-stage bird line, a three-stage pseudo-legend line or two, and a two-stage rodent every region just to clog up about 13-15 pokedex entries with repetive pokemon. Gah. Why not some sort of electric eel or gryphon?

And DEFINANTLY a new plot. Stop recycling your old things, Satoshi/Game Freak.

Everything I wanted to say but didn't feel like typing is in here. About the AI though, the way that people battle has to do with predicted switching, setting up..all that. Can Nintendo really do that with an AI? >_<
