    hey i played pokemon heavily in 5th grade ''currently in 10th'' and kinda fell back into it...

    ive played ruby, used infinate master ball.. ect.. but whats the best pokemon vrsion to date would you say? ruby, sapphire, gold, crystal....?
     
    Hard to say since they are all different from each other in their own respect...
    But the game which I think I enjoyed the most was gold version...I was so excited the first time I had finally got the new game and all the new features that were included...
    Ruby and sapphire weren't as exciting as GSC- The graphics were good, and it IS better than GSC/RBY but It didn't really add any much more new features. (Plus day and Night was removed...)
    So gold version gets my vote.

    silver is definitely my fav version.

    it was a VERY nice change from R/B/Y, since there were more colors, better graphics, the day/night thing+real time, more pokemon, more gyms, more pokeballs, more items, cool cities, etc.

    Ruby and Sapphire weren't bad at all with the nice graphics and new features, but like Muffin Man said, they cut out day and night, and a lot of other good stuff too.

    Man, that's a toughie. I played Ruby and I thought it was the greatest ever of the series. But now that I got Crystal, I believe that each series has its ups and downs. I decided that the Crystal version is one of the best, Ruby following closely second, because Crystal had the most dramatic change between the series.
     
    I liked the Red and Blue versions the most,
    because of there glitches and there were alot of rumors about Mew and stuff and now you can actually catch Mew!!
    So there were allot of things to discover..!!
     
    Grr... I don't know...
    R/S: Metagross, Aggron, other cool steel types...
    G/S/C: Introduction of steel type...
    R/B/Y: Wasn't electrode just plain OVERPOWERED?! The fastest pokemon, giving it Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, and some other insane-powerful attack made it pretty much the strongest pokemon....
     
    uhhhh i think I like Crystal and Yellow the most
