My grammar? Boy, I'm not writing a book here, it doesn't have to be perfect.
That was an 'either-or' statement. I didn't say you
had bad grammar, but it was certainly a possibility. Also, nothing less than absolute perfection is demanded from the internet. >:(
Read my sig, I'm just close to perfect.
Haha, no.
And, about the metagame definition, I don't need to explain it because that's what common sense is for.
Clever rebuttal.
That's why I referred you to Smogon.com, so that you'll see proper examples.
You can't just have 'examples' of a metagame. Metagames don't work that way.
It's like when your younger brother asks you what an operator is. You know pretty well what that is, so better point him to the dictionary so that he can see a better and correcy example of what an operator is.
Why would you do that? If you know what an operator is, wouldn't it be better to just tell him, rather than making him look it up himself?
But for your conveniece, good sir, here's a definition: Metagaming is a broad term usually used to define any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. In other words, sometimes using out-of-game information to affect one's in-game decisions.
Yes, I copy+pasted that because I knew that's what best would convey the definition to you. Got it?
Oh no, I already know what a metagame is. I was asking if
you knew what it is. Given that you copy+pasted the definition (most likely without reading it), it looks like you don't. If you did, you wouldn't have mentioned 'metagame' alongside Shoddy Battle and NetBattle in your thread title. In fact, most of those terms seem out of place.
*LAN Link: The hell? The DS doesn't use LAN. LAN refers to linking computers via ethernet cables (And yes, I know you can also link consoles and other things via this).
*GBA Link: Okay, who uses the GBA anymore?
*DS Link: Fine, but the DS uses Wireless communications/ WiFi.
*IRC: IRC? You mean Internet Relay Chat, the chat program? How does that have anything to do with battling? Unless you meant
DPBot, the IRC battling client.
*Metagame: The metagame is just the pool of strategies and Pokemon used in battling. How the hell does that have anything to do with damage?
*Net Battling: Fine, but it's called NetBattle, first off, and it's for 3rd gen.
I didn't thank you. >:(
