[Script] What's the downside of using CFRU?

Hey humans.

A bit of context:
Up until yesterday I'd been using Leon & Ultima Soul's Fire Red Base to make my Hack (a pretty great thing tbh)

I'd heard the Complete Fire Red Upgrade was a thing, but thought I'd take it slow, since this is my first real serious hacking attempt.

But after finally taking the plunge last night and messing around with the CFRU, I'm now questioning why I didn't start with it instead?!

So my question is:
What is the downside of doing so?

Does it limit me in what sprites and such I can replace (since the artwork is the strongest and most prominent element of my hack), or is it more like, most people are scared off by having to use code instead of tools, so it's just used less?

I feel like if there is no downside, reimporting all my current work is totally worth it to even if it's just for abilities and moves up to Gen VII.

Oh yeah, I would definitely give you the thumbs up to switch. I think it is compatible with a lot of hacks in progress, and gives more advantages over other Base's. Even Leon is constructing his Base on it.

Annoyingly it's making my OWs become invisible when I use my in progress ROM and the FAQ's suggested fix isn't working.

So might just start from a Clean Squirrel methinks.
Got all my assets, so shouldn't be too much work... Hopefully.
