yeh i dont know which pokemon are the best, i might train up my gengar.

    what pokes do you use

I generally don't try to have a specific team, just something with hypnosis, some good hard hitters, some not-so-hard hitters to get its HP as low as possible, and a lot of Ultra balls! ;)

i was thinking of a pokemon which has false swipe, a sleep inducing move and an ability or move like mean look, to make sure it cannot escape

In HG/SS I used a Pokemon with false swipe to get them down to 1 HP, and made sure that I was quite a few levels higher than them and brought along however many ultra balls I could and some potions in case my health got too low. I also brought a Pokemon with Hypnosis to increase the catch rate.

my tem had mewtwo moltres typlostion acticuno charizard and anorith

is there one pokemon which can learn all 3 moves though

For Raikou and Entei I weakened them down (obviously them fleeing in between) then used my Raichu to thunder wave them... Once I got them down to low health I went and withdrew 6 Wobbuffet that I happened to have, seen as Wobbuffet has Shadow Tag it stops them fleeing but to my surprise they could still roar me away :/ nonetheless just kept throwing Ultra Balls and caught them both.

Lugia I think I used Raichu to both weaken it down and then paralyze it and just kept tossing Ultra and Heavy Balls.

For Ho-oh and Mewtwo who are both level 70, I didn't come prepared at all, my highest level pokemon was my physical wall which is a level 55 Weezing (been EV trained) I used flamethrower and thunderbolt to weaken them both, and Weezing just kept taking hits, I was quite amazed but Mewtwo needed three Psycho Cuts to take it down >.< I didn't paralyze either of them, Weezing with Black Sludge just absorbed the hits and I caught both with Ultra balls

Latios/Latias (I forget, the blue one lol) I can't remember, think I used the same combo as I did to catch Entei and Raikou

So yeah I don't have a team as such, just a beast of a wall and a little bit of luck

is there one pokemon which can learn all 3 moves though

Absol can learn Mean Look (egg move), and through TMs, False Swipe and Thunder Wave (paralysis instead of sleep).
Gallade can learn False Swipe, Hypnosis, and Mean Look (egg move)
Smeargle will require much more work, but can get False Swipe, Mean Look, and Spore (accurate sleep)

is there an egg move thread that i can read, becuase i dnt understand how to egg move

I can't seem to find a thread, sooo I'll give a quick explanation of how to do it for your case. I hope you know the basics of breeding, otherwise, this could just fly right over your head. x_x

Egg moves are special moves certain Pokémon can get only through breeding. In the case of Absol, to get Mean Look on one, you would need a female Absol and a male Pokémon that it can breed with that happens to know Mean Look. Umbreon, for instance, can learn Mean Look through level-up and can mate with Absol, so a female Absol mating with a male Umbreon with Mean Look learned would give you a new Absol with Mean Look too.

After that, you'd teach the new Absol False Swipe and Thunder Wave and have a decent catcher Pokémon, though you'd still need to over-level it so it could survive.

Gallade would be similar, except the female Ralts can mate with a male Gastly/Haunter/Gengar and a number of other Pokémon to get Mean Look. Sadly, to get Hypnosis on a Gallade, you'll need to reach level 43, or level 50 in its second stage, Kirlia, before evolving it into Gallade. Lots of work in all cases, but quite worth it~

Edit: Shoot, forgot that Gastly/Haunter/Gengar can learn Hypnosis too, so if the male has both Mean Look and Hypnosis, you should get a Ralts with both moves, making this so much quicker. xD And make sure the Ralts you end up with is a male because females can't evolve into Gallade...Now this post has gotten too wordy, hope you understood all of this.

There isn't really a need for this thread, as we already have the HG/SS Travel Journal which allows people to tell their travel stories, including how they recently captured certain Pokémon and we have the What's Your Team? thread so people can list their teams. Generally, when it comes to a lot of the in-game legendaries, players use their current team. If you're looking for strategy on catching the running Pokémon like Raikou, Entei and a few others, then the thread, Raikou, should help.
