In Red I never get on the bike in Saffron City, 'cuz I prefer the SC music over the bike music.
That, Pallet Town and the music that starts up during the final battle against Gary are the only times I leave the volume on, 'cuz my GB speakers are shot.

To be honest my personal favourite track across all the games is Prof. Oak's theme from the original and carrying onto Gold and Silver. Used to make a decent ringtone for my phone.. hehe.

But the music that I think is the best I have ever heard is the Kanto Battle Music in HGSS. No question. Outstrips the champion battle music by miles. Don't believe me? Have a good listen:
