    When the Sun Goes Down
The games have finally arrived, and only one day after the European release date! Got both Sun and Moon, but decided to play Sun since I'm not a fan of the 12 hours shift in Moon, which effectively turns day into night for most players. For me though, it doesn't matter all that much, since I'll be playing in the evenings most of the time anyway. With that said, let's dive right ahead and see what happens when the sun goes down!
Melemele Island I can already tell that I'm gonna have a hard time keeping up with Kukui, yeah, and can I just say I was so surprised to see that my starter won't actually be coming from him? And speaking of the starter, isn't this little guy just the cutest? Not only that, the whole thing on the platform where you wait for it to come to you made it ten times better than just picking up a Pokeball with your starter inside.

    Vasco ♂ Lv. 5
    Quirky, sturdy body
    Ability: Blaze

The beginning was still, well, an introduction to everything, with many, many cutscenes; I can already tell that this is gonna be different from the usual Pokemon adventure. I love how it feels like a very cultural experience, with island deities, island trials, the kahunas and the island festival.

That dreamboat and that cave of hizzz
So at first I was so shocked at the fact that Rotom actually speaks. A Pokemon who isn't a Legendary actually speaking. I even thought, why didn't they just go with something like Siri 'dex? But after a few hours with the little rascal, now I am all about Rotom 'dex, it's just hilarious. And apparently it has a crush on Ilima hehe.
Verdant Cavern Already through with the festival, Trainer School, Marina and all that, not gonna go into detail. I did catch a few Pokemon, and decided to keep my Exp. Share on so I can try them out. Also picked up Munchlax, lest I forget later on.

But Verdant Cavern looks so pretty, and those Skull grunts are just ridiculous. I guess the Trial felt somewhat like a Gym battle, with a few small fry and then the boss, but it was also different, like a lot more about the Pokemon and really tied in with the place itself. I went with Vasco first, and then for the den, it was Alizarin, though it didn't go as planned because of Scary Face + Bite flinching, so I switched to Pirlipat with Quick Attack. Didn't expect to see a tiny little Rattata save the day, that's for sure!
Vasco ♂ Lv. 16 Quirky, sturdy body Ability: Blaze Fire Fang・Scratch・Lick・Leer
Alizarin ♀ Lv. 15 Timid, very finicky Ability: Keen Eye Rock Smash・Peck・Echoed Voice・Supersonic
Pirlipat ♀ Lv. 14 Hardy, very finicky Ability: Hustle Bite・Quick Attack・Tail Whip・Focus Energy

    * psst, you can hover over these guys *

And now, on to meet that dreamboat Ilima outside the cave. Hey, Rotom's words, honest.
