As I got up to leave, the bartender approached me. "Excuse me sir." he said gruffly. "Your bill?" I reached beneath my cape and tossed out a bag of gold coins. The bartender was in awe but quickly scooped up the money. "Thank you sir. Please, come again." several men nearby who looked like street thugs were amazed by the amount of money I paid stood up and came between me and the door.
"Step aside." I said forcefully.
"Don't think so pal." One of them, clearly the leader, snickered. " You gotta pay a toll before you leave this bar."
"What sort of toll?"
"ONly every bit of money you got on ya." he grinned. I smiled beneath my cloak.
"How unfortunate for you I gave my livesavings to teh barkeep. So I guess you get nothing."
"Oh, a wise guy eh?" he growled, pulling a knife from his belt. "keep talking like that and you'll be gettin' the business end of that blade."
"Look, you clearly don't know who I am, so it's best if you just step aside and let me be. because you don't want to get on my bad side." I said, trying to step past him. But he stepped in front of me and grabbed me by the shoulder.
"Or what?" He challenged.
"Or this." Suddenly my eyes glowed beneath my hood and a black aura enveloped my body. The man's eyes went from a look of curiosity to nervousness to absolute fear. He cried out in pain as the hand on my shoulder suddenly began to rot and decay, the flesh melting right off his body.
'What the?!" he cried out, pulling away as the organs and muscles fell away, the rotting continuing up his arm. "Oh god, it hurts!" he cried out. "Make it stop!" But his two buddies could do nothing but watch in horror as years worth of decay happened in seconds, and his skeleton hit the floor before dissolving into ashes.
there was a split second of quiet before the whole bar errupted into madness, spilling into teh street.
"get away from this guy!" People shouted. "He's like the grim reaper or something!"
"Now this scene seems more familiar." I said in a low voice as people screamed and scrambled the whole way down the street as I walked out of town.
