where did ash get his tauros?

Was it ever explained in the english dub how ash got his tauros? How did they work around the banned episode?

Ash caught his Tauros during the Safari Zone. Yes, he caught all the thirty Tauros with his Safari Balls.

Even when the Tauros was captured in a banned episode, that doesn't mean that the writers still can't use it as one of Ash's battlers. Tauros have been an assist to Ash during his battle with Drake, Gary, and one of the Battle Frontiers' Brains.

You're correct. I remember asking myself where the hell he got a Tauros during the Pallet training episodes. A great plot hole in the dub that doesn't matter today.

I remember when he returns to Pallet Town, Prof Oak says the Tauros there were the same ones Ash caught at the Safari Zone. So they did kinda tell you how he got them.

As for explaining it, they never did, no.

Yeah, you're right. I finished skimming through the episode and he did mention Ash capturing them in the Safari Zone. But then you wonder when did they air that episode.

But then I did understand from the small sentence from Professor Oak about Ash getting them from the Safari Zone.
