Where do you think the anime is heading?

If the series never ended, I would have to wonder about the quality in animation over time. Going this long, sure it's improved, but I tend to think about how much zeal these people have left before just making every episode barely decent. Even I wouldn't want to work as an animator forever.

They could always hire new people, though. That's an option.

In response to Kine: If they hired new animators, there would probably be some clear differences in the style of animation. Think of what would happen if somebody from Gainax, or Ban Dai was hired. Better yet, someone that used to work for Akira Toriyama... There would be obvious differences... Of course, that might give them an excuse to make the characters older...

Definately. I figure as long as they're going to hire new animators, why not get the best animators possible? That is, within a TV series. I don't expect animators who work on movies. And there would be some drastic differences, but hopefully just in the human characters (like you said, older, perhaps?) but I hope they don't change the Pokemon too much. I like them as they are.

This is all hypothetical, in case someone thought otherwise.

And I don't think anyone has to worry about it ending before the 4th generation. I was just responding to the statement that Pokemon should go on forever.

The humans would really be the only change in the style of animation.

The reason for this is ninety percent of the different animations for the Pokemon attacks are the same ones that were originally shot. They just use a computer to add the different backgrounds, cut up the animations, and throw in the characters doing whatever they're doing at the time. That's how they make most of the Series' battles. The only difference is when they bring in new Pokemon. Then those would be created by the new animators anyway, so they could just say that the new Pokemon were supposed to look like that in the first place!

In essence, only about ten to twenty percent of the total Episode is actually new footage. That's why they are able to make new episodes so quickly.

Akira Toryama (Sp) oriented anime in a Pokemon show? That would rock the ENTIRE WORLD!
We can keep our fingers crossed then :D

I still like my Pikachu Evolution Prediction.

Power Relation:

Ash's Pikachu=10 Raichus

Pikachu Evolves into a Raichu=100 Raichus

Ash's Pikachu Evolves into something else (more likely case)=?????????

There might be a really nasty enemy that becomes the new villain of the show, and that might end up causing Pikachu to evolve.

Also, the show will probably eventually become more serious as time goes by. I think it already is to a degree...
