4th Gen Where to find good pokemon on platinum?

Hiya, I've restarted my game on platinum im starting playing again today im just wondering where i can get some good, strong pokemon that arent using a trade.
My friend told me about an egg you can get from eterna city Togepi, where abouts do i get it from within this city?
Is there any where else i can get an egg from on platinum?

Cynthia gives you togepi egg and catch a shinx and evolve it since Luxray has 130 base attack and its spark and thunder fang will help a lot , even bite and crunch will help

In fact, no. Jas1995, you're right. You do receive a Togepi egg in Eterna City from Cynthia near the Galactic Bulding. Togekiss makes for an excellent party member, and I use the following for a well-balanced team:

Electivire [Electabuzz] (Route 221; Evolve by trading while holding Electrizer [Received from wild Electabuzz or behind Valley Windworks])

Magmortar [Magmar] (Outside Fuego Ironworks; Evolve by trading while holding Magmarizer [Received from wild Magmar or on Route 214])

Garchomp [Gible/Gabite] (Wayward Cave, Route 206 below Cycling Road; Victory Road)

Empoleon [Piplup] (Receive from Professor Rowan)

Lucario [Riolu] (Receive Riolu egg from Riley after going through Iron Island with him)

Togekiss [Togepi] (See beginning of post)


Anyways, the team above is obviously not for competitive use, but covers weaknesses well and provides excellent coverage.

I myself only use teams of 4 since its too hard to train 6 pokemon while keeping up with the levels at the E4 so I use

Infernape [Chimchar] (Starter)
Luxray [Shinx] (route 202)
Vaporeon [Evee] (Use water stone on evee, obtained from Bebe in house next to pokemon center at Hearthome)
Alakazam [Abra] (route 203)
2 HM slaves

Not sure on the ponyta, ill have to think about the certain things like fire beats grass.

Piplup, Togepi and Shinx sound good and I recommend that you do catch a Ponyta ;) What're you thinking for your last two Pokemon?

I wouldn't resort to using a Giratina simply because it's uber. Try getting a Floatzell & a shinx which you evolve into a Luxray. I also evolved a drifloon I got into a Drifblim which is good.

Upto now ive just been training my piplup, its nearly at lv 10 now it should of got to evulution by tonight.

Try to evenly train your team so you're not stuck with one good pokemon & then the rest of your team being really week. Try to be as even as you possibly can be.

b. A "good" pokemon is an opinion. Personally I think Skitty is a good pokemon but it's not something I would use on a team.
